Worlds First Complete Guide To Laptop & Notebook Repair Paperback – March 27, 2011

I bought this book "World's First Complete Guide to Laptop & Notebook Repair" and I loved it. I learned a lot from this book. It is gives you a step by step knowledge on what to do to repair your laptop. It is not that basic that you get bored. Still has a very easy to understand language that all type of people can learn from. If you have a basic knowledge of Electronic and would like to step into laptop repair world, I recommend this book highly.

This is a good book but its only focuses on the basic laptop repairing concept this book does not teaches how to repair a laptop motherboard in detail you have understand the signals and the motherboard power sequesnce and which chipset controls which set of components North and South bride in detail you have to know SMD electronics and know how to test them (Resisters, Capacitors, Mosfets etc) and also how to read and trace schematic diagrams. If you buy this book you will still be ended up clue less if you want to go chip level in laptop repair the best place to learn laptop motherboard chip level repair is to go to India or do a Google search for online chip level training on laptop motherboard in India if you really want to learn chip level repair. It may cost a little more but its worth spending the money you will never regret it.

it shows the process for how to fix laptops, anyone with some kind of mechanical know how can follow the book and do a good job. just need to have the right tools for the job

My laptop screen shows colored lines. This book has one chapter to talk about this issue. But the information in this book is less than the one I found from internet, especially YouTube. Many videos in YouTube are much more useful than this book.

Very good, but in some areas this book needs some more thourough explaining.

I was very disappointed in this book. There was nothing in this book that I did not know. There was not enough information, no demonstrations, and is elementary and basic. Not worth the money and is over priced. Do not purchase this book if you really want to learn how to repair laptops. Look for Scott Muellers books on laptop repair. They are much superior and you will learn how to repair laptops. I felt like I was ripped off!

He said that this is better than the U Tube videos. I don't feel he goes into enough detail about motherboard circuit repair.

I think Amazon is a brilliant supplier and I have never ever returned a book but this one went back the same day. It is without any question the worst technical book I have ever seen. It is disjointed garbled rambling text in wierd English, most of which is totally irrelevant. No wonder you can't do a proper 'search inside'. It has no technical data, no typical circuits, no typical mobo layouts, no index. It does have lots of blurry photos of capacitors and ics and heat torches. I can't see that it has any value whatsoever let alone a price tag of over £25.

I wouldn't waste my money if I'd have only have known! Makes me seriously distrust Amazon that this should be available on the Kindle store.
