The Incredible MXZ Pocket Saw-As Seen on TV

I bought one of these from a local drugstore a few months back. It did what it's advertised to do, and is definitely able to cut through tons of stuff you wouldn't expect it to. However, it is most definitely not built to last.The price tells the entire story, for $10, you shouldn't expect something that's going to last years. I used it a handful of times over about 2 months before the blade broke off of the handle. The blade hadn't been to dulled, since its constructed of tungsten carbide (I think?), but it did seem to be rubbed down a little. Perhaps this was just a normal part of its wear/tear or its breaking-in process.You should expect to saw for a substantial amount of time when going through most materials. Aside from plastics and minimally dense woods, this thing is going to take a while to get through most materials. Don't get me wrong, it does the job, eventually sawing through plenty of things, but my arms were certainly sore at the end of the process and I had certainly used up a good amount of time. This also may be due to the fact that there is an uncertainty in handling the saw. I can't put my finger on it, but in using the saw, something just feels strange about the grip of the saw. It feels like I'm trying to cut through things with a knife rather than a saw. I wonder if it were possible to re-engineer the handle/blade configuration so as to more closely mirror a standard saw; there's a reason the prototypical saw has been successful over many years. That being said, the blade of the saw is adjustable to different angles, but I've found that I only ever use one angle, since the other two are more for aesthetics than anything else.I give this thing 4/5 stars for doing what it says it can do and for being really well priced. But it gets docked a star for being cheaply constructed in certain areas and for being a little tricky to handle.All of this being said, I recently purchased one of these on Amazon to throw in my camping pack. It takes up such little space and is pretty good at sawing through a diversity of materials, that I figured it was worth $10 for this particular use. I certainly recommend this saw to anyone looking for a handy, around-the-house kind of product. Anyone looking for a functional saw to use in regular applications may be interested in finding a more developed, well-engineered product.

I have only tried to cut on small piece of wood with this thing - It didn't do a great job, but it might do better on metal, masonry, ceramaics etc. Just haven't had the need to cut those kind of things yet

I purchased it for a gift for my parents, who do a lot of projects indoors and outdoors. It doesn't even cut wood.Either the positive reviews are fakes or these people bought the junk-saw to cut cheesecake.The good news is, when you throw it away, it probably won't be able to cut through the trash bag.

i was seriously impressed with this knife. it cuts virtually anything metal just like butter. i didn't see what could be so good about this knife until i acually used it to cut a stubborn lock on my fence. i will have this for years to come.

Not bad for a "do-all" In some instances, a specialized device would be better. Worth the cost.

The true is incredible so small and can cut perfect almost every thing I'love it because I'use it almost every day in the yard to for cut branches and small pieces of wood for stand my flowers

when i purchased this, there was a thick root i wanted removed to assemble a small patio. going forward once, back once and it was useless. i did bett with a flat nose screw driver and a hammer and i am 67 years old

They should not be able to sell a product that does not cut. This saw is as dull as a used one. Cannot cut a small piece of thin wood.... Let alone paper. Stay away and dont waste your money.
