Door Saver II Hinge Pin Door Stop in Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish

I found that the adjustment mechanism could not be set where I needed the door to stop from hitting my new fiberglass tub. Used it to slow down the door and put a rubber bumper on the back of the door where it made contact with the tub wall.

These are a pretty good option for a door stopper for a light weight door. You can actually use them on a heavier door with wood and/or glass, but your door is going to sag about 1/4 of an inch when you open it. If that is a problem, don’t buy these. Otherwise, they are a good option for a gentle, invisible stop for a door.The sag issue could actually be remedied if they offered larger hinge pin sizes. The hinge pins are just a wee bit too skinny to properly fit in most of my door hinges.

These seem like a great way to avoid installing door stops, so I tried one. In practice, they don't work very well. First, as others have pointed out, you have to make sure your door(s) has clearance around the hinges for the cams to fit; not all doors do and if you don't the cam will get wedged between the hinge and the door. Second, the positioning options for the top cam are way too far apart. For both of the doors I tried it on I found that one position stopped the door halfway open and the very next position allowed it to hit the wall. These are standard doors. Lastly, in testing it was quickly obvious that after very little use this will certainly bend your hinges. Just testing opening and closing a few times it was clear to see the massive strain this puts on the hinges with very little force applied to the door.

Love the idea of these doors stops (Door Saver). I’ve tried other kinds of door stops, and DO NOT like them for numerous reasons (collect hair when trying to sweep the floor, stub your toe; the other style that mounts on the hinges, first you have play around to adjust the stop, secondly the stop works it’s way out the hinges constantly).I do have one question, why is the pin split at the bottom? I think I know the answer, but I have to ask anyway.

Would be better if more fine tuning to angle opening of door.

This item seems to be a good idea if it fits. It does not fit all doors and hinge types. Better double check that it fits yours and not by calling the manufacturer. I spoke to them before purchasing and they specifically said it would fit my door. Now they are saying that it does not and they meant truframe doors.These do not work with thermatru prehung doors.I guess all that's left is to try the original door saver.

I have purchase about 10 of these now. They do their advertised job just fine and look tasteful to boot. Easy to install.
