Mr. Carter has masterfully written a sequel to his "The 12% Solution." This text, however, is geared toward protecting individual stocks or ETFs, and not the whole portfolio (as his "The 12% Solution" does). Together, both texts make a developed and well-rounded investment strategy. Well written, easy to read, full of practical justifications for the method. There are even many examples of where the solution could fall short (then, usually, additional options to plug up the holes). All that is to say that the concepts were developed and well justified, with exposure to the strengths and weaknesses of the method. Written with honesty, integrity, and ultimately, a well-thought-out plan to beat the results of the S&P 500 (as backtesting showed and explained how this actually is accomplished.) A must-read if for no other reason but to compare to some of the other material out there on the subject. Most brilliant and well done! Thank you!

Easy read, simple method for investing in a market with high volatility and plenty of uncertainty. Thank you Mr. Carter, I finally have a stable long term strategy that consistently grow wealth.

Good overview of how to use 200 ema as a trigger signal for risk on/off in normal markets. While the book did address the downfalls of using individual stock 50/200 moving averages as triggers, it did not address using the spy 50/200 as a trigger. good chose of bond funds presented as safe havens

I, like many investors, have depended upon good intentioned Brokers over the years for advice and guidance only to be disappointed with the results. I am tired of paying money for mediocre results along with misguided strategies that only seem to benefit the broker. Time for change !I don't necessarily have the suggested time line David uses in the book, but to me it absolutely makes sense, a lot of common sense in fact.To me the logic is sound and the back testing results speak for themselves. With all that being said, David's book is very informative, timely and I have just recently deployed this strategy. Stay tuned for future comments about the results.

I’ve been around the stock market for over 40 years. It doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or more experienced investor, you will find helpful material in David’s books. I strongly suggest not reading just one of them.

I recommend this book because of the evidence the author gives with trends and statistics in the book. I even created the trends he shows in the book with exact trend from “stock charts.com”. The honesty of the author on letting the reader know this strategy has holes and is not 100%, but over the long run it works. As a investor I took a beating in the 2008 market and even worse stayed out of market for ten years. This book gives me confidence it’s not to late. I’m in!

I found this book to be simple and straightforward, yet elegant in its approach. The strategy makes sense and seems well backtested. I also enjoyed the “12% solution” and think the two strategies can go hand in hand ... providing investors an approach to do some individual stock picking with a portion of a portfolio and a broad market, more traditional 60/40 split with the rest of their portfolio.

As with my review of the 12% Solution, I have not put this information to work. The system described in this book doesn't seem to complicated. I just need to stop procrastinating and get back in to the market. I will update this review after I try it out.

Save and an alternative to the blind buy-and-hold strategy! Easy to read! Author takes you by the hand and explains why he does this or that!

I liked easy way to explain the method, that help the reader to understand right timing: when is time to invest and time to sell.I suggest it to people want to learn investing!

Having read many trading books this one comes across as authentic and reasonably simple to implement. I thank David Carter for providing this transparent research for all to see and use. I'm going to put it into practice with trust and hope I can stay the distance. Nicely and simply written with clear charts and some humour thrown in. I laughed out loud with some of the Q and A. Great ETF/stock investing strategy and David Carter's websites are worth looking at also.

I have been a keen equities investor/trader for 35 years with an automated algorithmic leaning. I take my hat off to this author for thinking outside the box and coming up with such a well thought out strategy. Even if the reader does not want to implement the trading plan, there are many gems to be gleaned from this book. Top marks.And make sure you get a copy of his other book: The 12% Solution.
