Nikon COOLPIX S3700 Digital Camera with 8x zoom, # point and shoot cameras, #lightweight hand held cameras, #good camera menus
Nikon has my attention. Owning several cameras during my life, at 68 I am a more seasoned user since I did take photos for many years with a Mamiya 1000 DTL SLR and numerous lenses and filters. Now I am seeking the lightest weight camera, with the highest megapixels and a decent zoom ability - with a user friendly in-camera menu... and of course a better battery source than rechargeable alkaline batteries (which I find very frustrating at best). I own a ten year old Fuji Finepix E550 - and for it's time, a great little, light weight camera. I have reviewed the real manual (which is downloadable through the Nikon website) - and printed out pages I need to review until they are memorized. The in-camera menus are* intuitive and while the screen is tiny for my tired old eyes - put on your reading glasses and proceed! The buttons and menus are well organized - the "on/off" button is a little tiny, but unless you have super large hands - should not be an issue. Not having a 'view finder' is a drawback - but in such a tiny camera, I will get used to using the screen. My first few photos taken were excellent and I am a happy camper. I hope this camera holds up well since I love it already.

Little camera nice pics
A tiny camera but wow. It tqakes some getting used to seeing the screen in the sun but you learn. I love the zoom feature. Most of my snaps are taken with the zoom. Pictures are sharp and clear and easy to download to your picture file. Just plug in the computer cord provided and the computer will ask if you want to use this system. It also charges your camera at the same time, a bonus. I never use the adapter. Say yes and you have your file. so anytime you plug it in to the computer again it automatically opens the file for you. You are free to import to your hard drive. Once you import you snaps the pictures are no longer in your camera's storage card. So take all the snaps you want and then peruse and delete the ones you don't like. It's great for having fun. A serious photog will want a 35 mm camera though

Can’t use memory card
The camera takes great pictures, until you try to put the memory card in and it says it’s write protected and won’t let you take pictures. I took it to multiple stores, and bought 3 different memory cards and it still wouldn’t work. I wish the seller would’ve put this in the description because it was a lot of money wasted.

Great camera to have in your pocket
I bought this camera for my wife to take on a trip, because I was sick of getting low quality photos from her iPhone.Pros:Simple, easy to useGreat quality photos in good light and conditionsSmall, portable, good battery lifeConsWiFi feature does not do what most people want. It would be nice if it would connect to your tablet, and transfer all new photos. That way you have backup, and can view on larger screen. While this is possible, it's far from automatic and intuitive. I have a similar solution for my SLR, and it work flawlessly. The Nikon engineers need to rethink this feature.Autofocus is slower than she would have liked, and indeed, a fair number of her photos were fuzzy. I know it comes with patience and practice, but this IS a point and shoot.

Pretty Decent Point and Shoot
My 5 year old daughter has been wanting her own digital camera for awhile. My husband has a nice DSLR that he sometimes let her use (with supervision) and she did well with it, so we tried to find her a point and shoot she could have more freedom with for her 5th birthday. She loves the camera and having the freedom to take it wherever she goes and take pictures without help. She is still learning to use the DSLR, but in the meantime she can still take her own pictures and get decent prints. She is also learning to do some basic photo editing and has her own little online gallery and loves to do "art photography".Great camera for a kid who is into photography and it would be a great camera for any adult that wants decent prints of vacations and kids. This also takes pretty decent videos in the right lighting. Nothing fancy, but good enough for a kid who wants to edit videos for youtube.

This camera is a winner!
Love this little camera! I bought it to replace my other red Coolpix which was stolen (bummer) - I immediately fell in love with this - it's so easy to use - I'm a terrible photographer, but this camera has taken some breathtaking pix - the zoom is so good and the pix taken with zoom are crystal clear - couldn't be happier - love the small size and the rechargeable battery - my old Coolpix really drained the double AAs - great camera!

disappointed
I was very disappointed with performance. I have owned many Nikon cameras without problem. the shutter was slow to respond, I missed many shots. Focus was difficult. I couldn't get panoramic to work, kept saying failed. WIFI connection was null, could not get any connectivity to any of my devices, doesn't connect to the computer via USB either. this is just a few issues. now i am trying to return for a refund and only option i get is to send for repair. I want a full refund, not a repair. It should have worked right out of the box, it was not a refurbish purchase. I would not buy this camera again. I received the 'repaired' camera back - still doesn't work. I want a full refund, guess now I have to contact AMAZON by phone to make that happen.
