Fun Low Impact Medium Intensity Workout!
Hip Hop Abs Ultimate Results provides fun workouts, variety, low impact total body moves, good cardio, and I just have to say it again: Fun!Here's what I like and what I think you'll like about this package:Three workouts (really four if you count a 20 minute pure dance bonus) so less chance of boredom and more choice depending on how you feel and what you need that day.Fun music. As soon as I turned it on I was bouncing and dancing before the workout started.Inspiring and fun instructor.A good ab workout (but also cardio) while dancing and grooving - much more fun than crunches or planks.Pick one of the three (or fourth bonus) workouts depending on how long and how you want to workout.Workout gloves are .75 lb each - certainly not heavy but for most of these moves you'll only want light resistance. For abs usually you want to tone up but not bulk up.Why this may not be for you:It's mostly low impact and approaches cardio far differently than Shaun's T-25 or Insanity programs. With this workout you'll keep your heart rate in the mid-cardio zone and spike it up frequently, but it is not non-stop insane cardio. If you don't like hip hop music you won't enjoy it.What you get: 2 DVDs and a set of workout gloves to provide light resistance but not slow down your dancing. The .75 lb (each) gloves are easy to put on and comfortable and will boost your heart rate as well as provide a little resistance. The moves in this program are generally fast moving so I think it would be awkward to use heavy weights, but he does show an option where one dancer uses hand weights (appear to be 5 or 8 pound weights). But this is not a weight workout in the traditional sense. The first DVD contains two workout choices:Fat Burning Cardio (43 minutes, all dancing workout, no wasted "just talking" time) During this workout you build nine different routines/dances, so you won't get bored. This includes fairly vigorous warm up and cool down routines, and there's about one minute of cool down stretching at the end. Each routine starts out with an easier low-impact level and each dance then builds in intensity and incorporates high impact spikes if you choose to do that. I would rate this an intermediate workout as far as cardio, but totally fun. You are working your core and using arms and total body movement throughout. The second workout is included on the first DVD: Ab Sculpt (32 minutes) focuses on dancing and slower standing toning moves that result in pretty easy cardio, but why not get a little fun cardio in while doing ab work, as opposed to just being on the floor doing crunches and planks. Shaun choreographs six different dances in this one, working your abs side to side and front to back, using abs to lift legs, etc. so you're moving the whole time. This workout also cycles through slower, easier moves increasing in intensity to spike your heart rate during each routine. After 22 minutes of dancing, it's down to the floor for plank work but he also keeps this from being boring by constantly moving arms, legs and torso during the planks. Then on to some sitting abs where you lean backwards towards the ground while again moving arms and legs. For a cardio workout I'd classify this as lower intensity but fun and good enough for those "meh" days. And as an ab workout I rate it as very good. Please, no long series of planks and crunches for me. I'd much rather do this. The third workout is on a second DVD. Total Body Burn runs 45 minutes, with 40 of these minutes dedicated to a combination of varying intensity cardio (easy to medium to a few spikes of hard) mixed in with toning/light resistance moves for arms, abs, back, lower body. The last five minutes is on the floor ab work. Am I ready to drop on the floor with exhaustion at the end of this workout? No, but I would rate it as good medium intensity cardio combined with non-stop ab and body toning work and a lot of fun.Bonus: Also included in second DVD is Learn To Dance: Get Abs or Die Trying. He takes you through some fun but complicated dance moves while working your abs with torso movement incorporated into every movement. easy cardio but again I just love dancing with this guy. It's 20 minutes of having fun. This is a good short workout when you want to get your dance on. I think the product description says three workouts and doesn't count this segment, but this a decent short workout that I look forward to doing fairly frequently when I just want to shake things out.As an instructor, I say Shaun is great because I'm smiling through the whole thing, I want to do all these workouts again and I definitely want to hang out with him at workout time. Another review said there's a lot of "Uh....Uh...Yeah that's right" which if some people said it would be annoying but I say this guy is a blast. I want to dance and do whatever he's assuring me I can do.Would I count on this as my only workout DVD/program? No, because I do want some insanely hard cardio days and some more vigorous weight days. But this certainly will be a frequently used addition to my fitness path. Do I feel like I got a great value for under $30? Definitely. Uh....uh...yeah, that's right.

I love this work out
Shaun T. is my favorite. His instructions are fun to listen to, the songs to the work out are great, and after a few days I could feel my stomach hardening and the outline of abs starting to form. The gloves at first I thought should weigh more, but it turns out dong the actual work out with them is tiring and helps my arms feel stronger. I bought other DVDs by Shaun and I haven't been disappointed by any of them <3

Appropriately challenging level 2 progression
I am so happy that a level 2 progression was created for the outstanding original set of workouts. I had started to hold light dumbbells for all the workouts anyway to make them a bit more challenging over time. I was thrilled that the creators actually intended you to wear weight for all the level 2 workouts. They are noticeably more challenging, but in a good way. You will feel the extra bit of challenge using the gloves in your shoulders and they will make your breathing a bit more labored. However, the biggest change for level 2 is more plyometric (or jumping) and explosive movements. It made the whole workout series completely refreshed for me adding these DVDs in.The weighted gloves feel very comfortable and are easy to put on. They seem to be designed for just average hand sizes though. If you have very large hands, you may need to substitute light dumbbells instead.

Fun workout and you don't have to be skinny to do it!
Great video, lots of fun! Shaun is great and very motivating. Not boring at all and the time flies by. I especially like that there is a person doing lower impact versions of the exercises towards the front and she is shown a lot. I was doing zumba and couldn't do some of the moves and I can do all of them on here. I'm very overweight and I'm able to do the workout. I just got done with the first week and lost 8 pounds!

Two Stars
Amazon did a great job with shipping it to me fast, I just didn't like the product itself.

Love this series as always!
So at first I was going to send the set back because I thought I was missing the Get Abs or Die Trying but apparently they just include it on one of the DVDs with no mention of this on the cover. I did contact Amazon because I didn't want to open the wrapper and risk missing the video and not being able to send them back but Amazon wasn't much help saying they stock the merchandise but don't know how it's packaged. Anyway I decided whatever it's one video and tried out the video and I'm still in love with this series. Anything that doesn't make me feel like I'm exercising is a keeper! And my Fitbit says I burn between 600-800 calories per workout depending on my intensity. I've even seen as high as 907 calories! I'm impressed. Only time will tell if I get a 6 pack though lol.

I ordered these DVDs due to I was so amazed on the results I was getting on hip hop routines I got thru youtube... In just one week I noticed a reduction in my waist, arms and hips.. along other parts of my body, but those routines got removed from youtube. Within youtube the Shaun T's hip hop workouts I found where so inspiring and kept me sweating since the very firt minutes of starting the routine, and the excercises repetitions and switches were so right in lenght that I could feel all the work done in my entire body. But these Hip Hop Abs ultimate results DVDs were not what I was expecting. I tried the 3 DVDs, even one right after the other for almost 2 hours on the road and I couldn't get any sweat.... Shaun T's voice was behind than expected... he sounded like a begginer trainer and coudn't get me motivated. The repetitions and swithes on every routine were not right to getting results and you can even hurt your muscles if you are not careful enough... These DVDs are boring...I am not a beginner when doing workouts nor an advance... however, I used to excercise at least 5 to 6 days a week for a minimun of 1 hour/each day and I like hip hop workouts.
