NARS Shimmer Eyeshadow, Ashes to Ashes

This is my favorite. I would pay for it over and over again. It gives the dramatic eye, but not too much. It's a great product!

GORGEOUS lagoon blue color! Love NARS's products, especially their eyeshadows lipsticks. This blue is nice and pigmented and super pretty. But it doesn't look ghastly or gaudy, just very pretty. I have fair skin and blue eyes and it looked really pretty on me. I think it would look great on any skin tone and any eye color but I think it would look especially gorgeous on brown eyes and on someone with a darker skin tone because it would really make the light blue pop! And seller did was super fast with shipping. Thank you!

Nice rich dark green color.....but it doesn't stay on the eyelid. For the price, it should, other brands do. I'm not happy this bleeds into the crease. I've always used a base and works, but not for this brand. Won't buy Nars again.

This is a lovely violet-undertoned taupe that is useful for crease shading. It is cooler than Ashes to Ashes but darker in tone. It is probably best for medium or darker complexions if you are after subtlety. On my very fair complexion, it reads as quite a bit darker than a midtone and requires much more blending than a lighter taupe like Ashes to Ashes would. However, I do prefer the cooler undertones of this shadow.

I admired this color while watching a makeup tutorial on youtube. It has a very pretty taupe gray tone for a smoky feel which brings out the blue in my eyes. Much prettier on then in the photo. NARS no longer offers it on their website so I was pleased to find it here. The shimmer tends to irritate the skin around my eyes but I am a NARS devotee and don't have this problem with the matte eye colors so I just use this color less often. I have sensitive skin so this may not be a problem for others and the color would definitely work on most skin tones.

When I first received this eyeshadow in the mail I was disappointed at the size. It seemed awfully small for the money. But this eyeshadow packs a wallop. A little goes a long way and it is the perfect shade for day time. I love NARS products. They may be small but they are definitely worth every penny.

This is a beautiful purple-taupe shadow. I have medium-light skin with a slight yellowish undertone, and I think it looks amazing. Friends and strangers have asked me what color I'm wearing. I have to get up early and I do my makeup around 5:30 am, and this lasts without creasing until around 4 pm with a primer. I absolutely love this shadow- it's worth the price!

To be honest, I got this, tried it on, and never used it again. Pretty expensive to waste, but it's so light, there's no point in me putting it on. If I want a grey-taupe, I use a different eye shadow, as this is just a hint of greyish. I have very fair skin, and it's still not pigmented enough to give me nice color.
