Unit arrived packaged well. For $15.00, I wasn’t expecting much. I had to modify the mount a bit. Not a big deal. Just want others to know that this is a universal fit item and may require some fabrication to work with your specific welder. I got a really good deal on a used mig welder and the wire feed setup was broken. This part fixed it. Once I got the mount situation sorted, everything else fit as it should. Very happy with my purchase and would buy again.

My wire welder has a brand new cable assembly. I am also using the large wire spool of wire. I purchased this whole assembly only because my original DC Motor stopped working. I took a chance on this low price point unit and my results were the same as most. The engineering is almost identical to OEM. To mount you must drill out the mounting holes with a bit at or about 1/4'' in diameter. Next you try to use the darn thing. The dc motor is too weak to overcome some of the natural inherent friction points of a wire welder such as the wire spool and the cable assembly friction we consider to be normal. I hope the makers of this item considers my review seriously. Sell us some motors instead because in most cases our gear box portions are in good shape. At this point i am returning my unit and seeking something else as a possible solution. The biggest issue is the description text does not electrically match the specs on the image. The Product description says its a 10watt unit which i will supply to you the read this is a grand total of .42amps. Thats less than a half amp. The image shows us the motor is .9amps. For those in the know, the more amps you draw then you will have more torque and horsepower. This unit was acting like it did not have enough power to achieve any wire feed at all until i rotated my wire feed up to approx pos 7 out of 10. even at that point the feed was very slow like i was set on the lowest feed setting. The whole product is not bad as far as design but i really wish the seller would understand that whomever they are getting motors from is falling short of the original OEM specs. The DC Motor is really the only issue i have on this product,, it is extraordinarily weak. I attempted to reach out to the seller about my issue before doing a review but it seems that is not going to happen. There is nothing but an automated bot to type out to , nor a website for support. So my final complaint is they seller claims i can simply come to them with any quality problems or issues but the way to actually do that is trivial for me to figure out at this time. If you are the seller, please reach out to me about this over the phone or by email, I have a feeling you want to supply a quality product and you are not aware that the supplier of your motors is screwing you over..

My "affordable" MIG welder from Northern Tool started having problems feeding the wire. I ordered a new drive wheel that has yet to arrive. This complete drive unit was only a few $$ more than the wheel. Installation was not too difficult, but I am reasonably adept with tools and soldering.
