It is fantastic, and almost perfect in every way
This is one of my most beloved items. It is fantastic, and almost perfect in every way. I've seen other reviews that mention that it is delicate, and easily broken. The first thing I did when I opened it was accidentally drop it on a hard tile floor--no harm done. Dropped it again less that two minutes later, and a third time later that same day (yes, I'm quite clumsy) and it is just fine. Not that I recommend dropping it, but mine doesn't have a scratch, dent or imperfection after three drops onto a hard surface.Compared to the $15 toy this is around an inch shorter, and a bit narrower (which I prefer, and it's an exact copy of the real screen-used sonic so that's awesome). The silver bits are metal and the grey center is a hard plastic. It is only a bit lighter than the plastic version (and apparently is less than a gram lighter than the real one). Personally I almost wish it was a bit heavier, but that is a personal preference and not at all a detriment to the actual item. The sounds are perfect, and it took me very little time to figure it out and learn the functions. Sadly, it doesn't seem to work with my Dish, as the remote transmits only RF and the sonic requires IR. I don't know if there are work-arounds for that, but I was unsuccessful in finding anything. Apparently some dish remotes have a switch that turns them from RF to IR, but mine does not. Needless to say I won't be using this for a remote all that much (though I am considering getting a USB IR remote for windows that will allow me to [hopefully] use this to control netflix and windows media player [if that is possible] which I actually use more than the TV.)The case this comes in is beautifully made. It sits in nice and snug, and there is a place for the instructions and the magnetic display base, and the charging cord. It charges very quickly either with a usb wall charger or via a computer. The FX mode is a lot of fun, though a bit tricky to get some of the sounds.I love just holding and looking at this, and wish I could carry it around with me everywhere. There was only one thing I was unhappy enough, and this being my own opinion I didn't feel it necessary to remove a star for this one thing--especially since it could just be my own obsessiveness. Often, when the Doctor removes his sonic from his inner coat pocket you can here a metallic jingle, it rattles just a bit. It's a tiny thing, something some people might not notice. But if he tosses it, or pulls it out, or puts it away, you can hear the metallic rattle. The Sonic Screwdriver remote does not do this. Everything is well made, and held together firm and tight--no rattling. Like I said, it is a tiny thing, but something I was a bit disappointed about. All in all this is a wonderful thing that any Whovian should own, and well worth the price.

A Whovian's dream remote
I absolutely love this remote. It is so cool and fun and unique and it is everything I wanted it to be. I was going to get a universal remote anyway, but to have a Doctor Who one is just awesome. Here are comments on questions I had about this product before I got it:1. It is lighter than I expected and feels quite fragile. Sometimes you don't know if something will feel like a toy or an electronic device, and this is somewhere in between. It does come with an FX fuction like a toy (and for Cosplay), but I highly doubt I will be taking this anywhere in fear of breaking it - however if I do, the case is more than sturdy enough to keep it well protected.2. The sounds are just like the sonic screwdriver from the show. I was worried they would sound silly or off, but they do not. The voice guide also has a British accent and uses the term "anticlockwise" as opposed to "counterclockwise." I thought that was very cute.3. The programming seemed really complicated at first, but once I started it was super easy. The movements are very easy to perform, you just have to be precise. What is nice is the remote tells you what movement you're programming before you sync it with your old remote, so there is no chance of error.4. The device has a total of 39 programmable movements, but this is split into 3 different groups. I have 3 devices I'm linking this to, so I just made each "bank" a different device (TV, BlueRay, Cablebox). That really meant that I only had 13 programmable buttons for each device. This was just enough for me. One nice bonus was the "clockwise" and "anticlockwise" buttons work like a dial, so they were perfect for the volume option in my TV bank and the Fast Forward and Reverse in my BlueRay and Cablebox bank.5. The stand is just cool, and the magnet is pretty strong. I have it displayed all the time when not in use.6. Turning off non-programmed TVs is easy and hilarious. Cool bonus.Overall I'm really happy with this product. While I'm still getting used to using it, my concerns for ease of programming and ease of use have been squashed and I will be enjoying this product for years to come.

Allons-y, Alonso !!

Awesome
Als großes Doctor Who Fangirl (besonders vom 10.

Miglior replica in circolazione!
