Sea Doo Pro Sea Scooter

This is my third one over 10 years. It goes just faster than you can swim as gauged by my kids chasing each other with it. For the price point it is a great mix of dive tool and recreational toy for my kids. Eventually you will have to replace the lithium battery. I then upgrade to the bigger battery for more charge time. After about three years or so depending on abuse, you will get rust in the components and the plastic grates will become more brittle. I have not tired a more expenisve one for fear that it too might become brittle or rusty in 3+ years. For this price point I get my moneys worth in entertainment for 3 years or so.

The scooter works well and can move even a 200 lb person around the pool pretty effectively. Sea Doo's own site says the standard battery lasts "up to an hour" which is a pretty big stretch. Even with the 60 pound kids using the scooter we maybe get about 40 minutes of use. This is consistent with other reviews I've read. We'll knuckle under and spend the extra $78 for the extended life battery ($65, but with $13 shipping). But I'm thinking that the "up to 2 hours" promised for the bigger battery will probably be more like 90 minutes if Sea Doo's overblown claims on the smaller battery remain consistent.

We purchased 2 of these brand new a few weeks ago. After the 2nd week the first one started acting up and running slow. The 3rd week the second one started acting up. We have tried to contact the manufacturer to place a warranty claim without any luck. Needless to say, not real happy we have only used the product 4 times and neither one of them work.

This is my second sea -doo. My first one was the cheaper model ( $150.00 approximately) and worked great. I thought I would splurge and get this model which is about $100.00 more. A few things about this sea-doo that I don't like. 1. Much bigger than the cheaper model making it harder for kids to use. 2. Getting the battery out after using takes some time unlike the cheaper model. You have to strap a rubber band on the side and use a suction pump, which is included, to remove the chasing in which the battery is in. This is the same battery as the cheaper model and operates at the same speed as the cheaper model. I thought for $100.00 more I would get a better machine and faster one but I didn't. If your thinking about purchasing one for the kids to use in the pool don't get this one. Save yourself a $100.00 and go with the less expensive model.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT ITEM, WE BOUGHT IT FOR A BIRTHDAY GIFT AND IT PROVED EXCELLENT. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN. THE BATTERY LASTED APPROX AN HOUR, I BOUGHT ANOTHER LONG LASTING BATTERY TO EXTEND USE. ITS A LITTLE CUMBERSOME TO CARRY ABOUT BUT IF YOUR DRIVING OR SAILING TO THE SNORKLING SITE THEN ITS OK. WORTH EVERY CENT.

You can cover alot of distance while snorkeling using the sea scooter pro. Wife loves it. Wow the boat was along distance away when we popped our heads up. Had some quality control issues with one unit but amazon customer service was quick to send another unit out. Be sure to equalise alot when going down as the scooter will get you to the bottom quick. Hard to equalise and hold on to while under power with one hand. The kids love them in the pool. Very kool item.

After recieving the product I was disappointed when I turned it on just to get a loud whine from the propeller. I thought no problem it just needs a little lube and off I would go. After a little lube it reduced the problem by about half the noise level and I figured it would work itself out since the product was new out of the box. Now ready to go and I discover an even bigger problem. the positive lead on the battery terminal has a short due to an internal break under the protective seal at the connection point of the battery and positive lead connector. Therefore resulting in an on/off situation. After the headace I contacted Amazon and they were very responsive at resolving the issue. I kept the unit and purchased a new battery. I also purchased a more reliable unit as I dont trust it (the Sea Doo Seascooter pro) for the dives that I go on. It does make a great pool toy! I have used this same model prior to the purchase and overall I think its a good product, I just couldnt let 1 bad apple spoil the bag!

This machine is awesome! A friend showed one to me so I bought one. It can pull me around my lake for an hour and a half at about 3.5 mph. We had a radar gun. I weigh 175 lbs so that was no easy task. Diving feature also works great, can get to the bottom of my lake (40 feet or so) in about 7 seconds. Buy it! You won't regret it.
