Great lighter well made and good value. Shame about the lanyard quick release clip.
This is an amazingly good quality lighter for the price. It works very well and first time every time.Since I am about to embark on a narrow boat holiday I decided this flame less lighter would be safer around unfamiliar LP gas installations, would work well in potentially wet and windy conditions on the canals and the supplied lanyard would prevent possible loos in the canal if dropped.My only comment was that the thin chord on the quick release clip of the lanyard soon pulled out of the plastic clip which could have been a disaster on the narrow boat steering deck.Rather than ask for a replacement part a simple redesign made this product very secure. I removed the quick release clip from the end of the lanyard by breaking the plastic with a pair of electrician's side cutters. I then connected a strong key ring to the lanyard end and connected the same to the loop on the lighter. (see photo). by looping the lanyard through a belt loop and placing the lighter in my pocket it now feels very safe indeed.Great lighter, highly recommended but if the lanyard is required I strongly recommend the simple modification.
