GENKI 1 Textbook And Workbook , Answer Key , Japanese Vocabulary 4 Books Set With Original Sticky Paperback – January 1, 2011

This set has all the basic tools you might need for learning the basics of Japanese--a textbook, workbook, answer key and a handy laminated tri-fold reference for basic Japanese vocabulary. The textbook and workbook both come with CD-ROMs containing short listening exercises. According to the publisher, the CDs are playable on computers, but not on CD players. All print materials are all high-quality in terms of the book bindings and print quality, and the explanatory text written in English is informative. The CDs played without a problem on my laptop. Based on the little I know of the Japanese language, it seems to me that a student of Japanese would gain a good, basic knowledge of the language with these materials. My only two slight quibbles with these materials are that 1) the hiragana aids provided for reading katakana and the fonts used for romaji pronunciations are pretty small--better have your reading glasses handy!--and 2) sometimes the helpful pronunciation and hiragana aids are sometimes printed below the text they apply to and other times are printed above the text they apply to--slightly confusing at first. These two small quibbles are the only reasons I am rating this set at 4 stars instead of 5, so if you can deal with those two issues, you would probably find these materials to your liking. One other caveat, and this is certainly not the publisher's fault, Japanese in general is not an easy language to learn. I have heard that on a 1-5 scale, 1 being easy and 5 being difficult, Japanese rates a 5, so you will probably find you need a real teacher in addition to this set, rather than being able to learn the basics of Japanese using these materials through self-study. the Genki 1 textbook and workbook as well as answer booklet for Genki 1 and 2 were in perfect new condition. The additional sticky notes were a great addition. I got the textbolms before expected delivery time as well! Super fast. Not sure why Amazon hasn't updated it to say they were delivered, but I guess its because doesn't work well with JapanPost??? Anyway, it's a great buy! My favorite part about Genki is that the practice dialogues at the beginning of each chapter create a story that progresses with each chapter and adds new characters and details into the lives of the main characters. It's super cute. The grammar points are all very clearly explained as well. I just wish they expanded the genki series from beginner Japanese through advanced.

My son has taken it upon himself to learn Japanese and asked for these books. They have been an excellent resource and practice guide for him. They are well designed and laid out. The answer key makes it easy for him to self check his work and make sure he is actually retaining the lessons. I highly recommend this package for anyone trying to learn Japanese on their own!

Got the full set as advertised, in great brand-new condition, very quickly. The book is very helpful for learning Japanese, and online teachers recommend Genki the most.

This product came as described. It included the textbook with a cd, workbook, answer key, a nice foldout laminated vocabulary guide. It also included a package of colored post it tags. I felt it was a great value!

Everything arrived in good condition. The materials are well organized and have been helpful and useful for this semester.

I bought this product because I really wanted to learn japanese grammar. Right now I am at chapter2 and I am enjoying it so far. Altho when watching youtuber’s talked about the level of politeness the book teaches he said some of it might be borderline rude so just try to look for more resources just to make sure.Overall I like the bundle definitely helping me learn japanese! ありがとうございます
