Oil it. It's ebony wood
Well it's not metal. It's ebony with metal bands.I needed a 65mm barrel, and they can be expensive. This one took a little longer to come, but arrived a little earlier than was indicated. It was a tad tight, but it works great on my ebonite clarinet. Sounds niceIntonation good.

65 mm clarinet barrel review
Pleased with intonation, price and delivery of this product. The only problem was the the lower ring was loose. I used thin paper and made a shim to tighten up the ring. The stock barrel on my Bundy clarinet was approximately 66 mm long and for me was playing on the "flat" side.Wish I could buy this same barrel in a 64 mm length, as some records our musical groups tune up on the "sharp" side.

Good replacement for a student clarinet.
This fit my daughter's student clarinet quite well. She did have some leakage between the mouthpiece and the barrel. After some searching I found a recommendation on Youtube to add some parafin wax (with heat) to the cork seal to help with leaks. We did that and it works great. Not really sure that it is made of metal as the title claims.

As good as the original
Worked just as good as the original for a replacement on my clarinet.

Very pleased
For $8, I thought it was worth a try as my barrel had a crack, had been repaired, and then reopened. Very pleased with the sound of my clarinet.

It's stuck on
My sons band director insisted we get him a new barrel due to tuning issues. So we did, got fresh cork grease for it. My son has been playing for years know his instrument well. Put it on slid right on after class went to put everything back in its case, barrel won't come off. Even our repair shop couldn't get it back off. It's been stuck on there ever since.
