Sturdy, but not invincible.
installs well. I used it for an exterior shed window as a theft prevention / block. I also frosted the windows so that a thief won't be able to see shed contents. The bars are sturdy enough for the application. I think a thief could rip them out with enough body force, but it would take time, make noise....so it definitely hardens the target. Doesn't make it impossible to breach though.

Great solid simple to ise
Simple basic window guard. Expands to fit different window sizes. I originally went to my local hardware store. They had something similar but the ends were too thick to fit into the grooves in side of window. These fit perfectly. I installed them a few inches above the window sill giving it some more height basically giving you a 4 bar guard for the the price of a 3 bar one.

John Sterling Non-Opening Style 3-Bar Child Safety And Window Guard
I got this to protect a first-floor window from forced entry. It seems nice and strong once installed properly. Installation itself was very easy. I like how it can adjust for a custom window fit. Comes with the necessary hardware.

Fit Window With Narrow Railing
The John Sterling may be the thinnest Window Guard you can buy. The sides are 3/4" wide. I had to return another window guard because the sides were so wide they would not fit in the window railing. This window guard fit. It seems solidly constructed, certainly enough to withstand weight of a child that is pushing against it.

If they don't fall out the window, they'll get a gash wound from the vertical bars!
These are the flimsiest things! I cannot imagine that they would prevent a fall if the force were there. I would love to return them but I waited ages to have our handyman install them so I'm not sure it's even worth it for a $25 item. Additionally, the top edges vertical bars are quite jagged/sharp. I guess I will put some duct tape on those (that'll be a nice look, won't it?). Spend a bit more money and buy a different option.

Extremely Poor Welds - Will Break.
It does do the job - once you actually fix the welds on it. It arrived with two of the welds on the bars already snapped off, and another one broke during (gentle!) installation. The welds on these bars are extremely poor quality and don't penetrate. They might as well have used glue to attach the bars to the crossmembers.DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE ACCESS TO A WELDER.
