Withings/Nokia Wbs01 WiFi Body Scale - Digital Wireless Bathroom Body Fat Monitor

I ordered the WIthings Scale and BP-800 together as a package and the Scale arrived the next day from Amazon. For some reason, the Scale is delivered from Amazon while the BP monitor is delivered directly from Withings, and the BP monitor took about a week longer to deliver than the scale. I chose the black scale over the white scale, and it has a really cool, hi-tech look to it. The box includes very limited manuals and instructions on how to set-up and operate your scale, and you have to go out to the Withings web site for step-by-step set-up instructions. This was not a big deal for me, but others might appreciate an easy to use paper manual with this product. After installing the AA batteries, and selecting pounds or KG's, you are instructed to connect the scale to the USB connection on your computer and to go to the Withings web site.After going to the Withings site, you are asked to register your scale, enter your personal information, etc. I was a little concerned about my health results being maintained on the Withings web site, so I used a generic name. You are then walked through how to connect the scale to your wifi home network. Be ready to have your home network security passcode ready. I have grown pretty adept at connecting items to my wireless home network, but if you struggle with this process, you may need some assistance from the techy in your life. For me, the wifi set-up went flawlessly and took less than 5 minutes. I also downloaded the Withings application for my Iphone so I am able to track my results on the Iphone.Once connected to my home network, I found a good spot on a hard floor in my bathroom for my scale. You need to pick a spot that has a good wifi signal. The scale comes with pads for carpet set-up, but I suspect like most scales, this scale works best on a hard surface. After setting up my scale on the tile floor on my bathroom, I stepped on the scale for the first time. Upon stepping on the scale, a slick, LED digital screen appears as the scale works to settle on your exact weight. The key is to stand very still. After about 10 seconds, the scale displays your weight, then works to determine your Body Mass Index as well as your body fat percentage. Not exactly sure how accurate the body fat percentage is since the scale on makes contact with your feet, but the scale displays your BMI and body fat percentage after about 10 seconds. I stepped off the scale and quickly started the Withings application on my Iphone. My weight, BMI and body fat percentage were instantly displayed on the Withings application! You can view your results numerically by day or graphically over time with a tilt of your Iphone. The Withings application is really cool and you can even email your results to your doctor or family/friend.I have been using the WiFi body scale for a week now and it really takes an accurate weight and BMI reading. I am not so sure how accurate the body fat percentage is. It measures your weight to the 10th of a pound, so you can accurately keep track of your weight on a daily basis. I have added the WiFI body scale to my morning routine, and will monitor my results weekly on the Withings Iphone application. You can also view your results online using your computer at the Withings website. I will be sending my Withings results to my doctor's office ahead of future appointments too. If you have the Withings Blood Pressure monitor, your blood pressure and weight readings are kept within the same Withings application, and you can easily toggle between your blood pressure/pulse readings and your weight/BMI readings. Withings provides a cool and fun way to keep track of these critical health measurements.The scale looks cool, works great (on a hard surface), and synchs flawlessly with your home wifi network and with the Withings Iphone application. My only caution is if you are not adept at connecting devices to your home wifi network, you may need some help from the techy in your life. If you don't have a home wifi network, I am not sure this is the scale for you. The real value in this product is the wifi connectively and the automatic tracking of your results in your Withings application. I would a recommend Withings develop a better paper user manual that clearly walks the buyer through the set-up process. This is a solid product and deserves a solid manual.

Since I started the Hacker's Diet in 2003, I have often longed for an easy way to log and track my weight. You would think it would be a simple thing to write it down, but I couldn't do it. I kept a pad and paper in the bathroom, but for some reason I kept blocking myself from keeping it up, and I felt compelled to hide the log before company came over, which was inconvenient. I don't know why I had such a big mental block about tracking my weight, but the result was that I wouldn't log or track my weight, I stopped logging or tracking my food (both of these are fundamental tenets of Walker's approach to weight management) and my weight crept higher and higher.Finally when my BMI hit critical mass I broke down and ordered this scale, despite the significantly high cost of the device, in addition to setting up specific plans to help with improving my nutrition and exercise. It was easy to set up and I use it with my favorite Android app, LibraWM. I track my daily food intake using a text file in Dropbox.I love it that you don't even have to turn the Withings WiFi scale on or wait for it to zero out. You just climb on and it measures your body weight and if you are barefoot, your body fat percentage. The scale sends the data to your private account, and I have my Android LibraWM app set up to pull data from my account. It automatically graphs the data and you can quickly identify your trendline and see what your weight is doing. This may sound like a small matter, but it makes it so much easier and more enjoyable to use. One less hassle out of the way each morning.You can log in to your account from anywhere; the scale can keep track of multiple family members; it looks sleek and cool; there is literally nothing more that I could want from a fitness tracking device. Paired with the LibraWM app it's unstoppable. It took me a couple months of trying to get used to a series of incremental changes to my diet and exercise regimens, but now I am starting to see steady weight loss in my Withings graphs and it feels really good.Bottom line: This scale was a great investment and I am very pleased with having highly accurate data and automatically-generated charts to help me manage my weight and make better decisions about nutrition & exercise. Great product.

outstanding product. have been using it for a month now - great motivator if you want to loose weight and want to see bmi and body fat index. only issue was initial setup on the web - URL was not correct in the version of instructions that came with it. works great with losit app as well.

This is a very expensive set of scales - but i love gadgets and things to make my life easier. I was torn between spending this much money on the Withings and buying the "Omron BF508 Body Composition and Body Fat Monitor Bathroom Scale " which is a much more affordable price for a set of scales. I have just read the 5 hour body week book by Tim Ferris, and he recommends the Omron type scales as they are the most accurate, so in the end i bought both sets of scales with a view to giving away the less accurate one as a gift!The Withings one is really sleek looking and setting up the users (which needs to be done via their website is quite easy - though if you have 2 people of similar build and weight i am not sure how well it would work) is really easy. You just sync the scales up to your Wi-Fi and off you go - stand on - wait for 15 seconds - job done. The beauty of these scales is that there are at least 2 apps in iTunes which you can setup and they will automatically update each time you weigh yourself - and along with loads of graphs and advice on targets etc work really well. All in all it is excessive for a set of scales, but if you love gadgets and find tracking your weight useful to help you diet then buy them.As it happened the Omron scales turned up o the same day, and after opening the Withings one first the Oomron was truly disappointing. It comes with a handle to more accurately measure body fat, but there are none of the other tracking and Wi-Fi features.

Abbiamo acquistato questa bilancia, su consiglio di un conoscente, un po' per gioco... consapevoli del fatto che il prezzo è sicuramente troppo alto rispetto ai benefici che una bilancia (anche se molto tecnologica) può dare.Però devo dire che, oltre ad essere molto bella esteticamente, è anche resistente (mi ci sono già cadute sopra parecchie cose e non si è fatta neanche un graffio) ed estremamente precisa e funzionale.PREGI: Effettivamente risulta utilile poter avere un grafico del proprio peso (ma soprattutto della massa grassa) nel corso del tempo: io, per esempio, ho scoperto che pur essendo rimasta stabile di peso, in realtà a poco a poco sono aumentata di 1 kg di massa grassa! Secondo me vedere i propri miglioramenti/peggioramenti invoglia a tenersi più sotto controllo.DIFETTI: Abbiamo avuto qualche problema a configurarla con la rete wifi, ma il loro supporto tecnico ci ha dato subito la soluzione (era un problema di DNS).Se in famiglia c'è qualcun'altro con peso e altezza molto simili la bilancia fa fatica a riconoscere chi dei due si sta pesando e ogni volta bisogna farsi "riconoscere".L'applicazione ogni tanto si impalla e qualche pesata si perde nell'etere... ma non è grande dramma. Spero in una sua futura release.In definitiva, la consiglio a tutti quelli che amano tenere sotto controllo la propria salute e a chi è patito di tecnologia.A noi ha convinto così tanto che abbiamo acquistato anche il misuratore di pressione.

La báscula, me ha llegado hoy, tengo dos en casa, una mide masa corporal etc, y la otra te muestra la diferencia de peso con respecto a la medida anterior, pero esta, es increible, te muestra un grafico en el PC, con la variación de peso, masa corporal, etc.Puedes poner notas, comentarios, objetivos, una verdadera pasada, si tienes dudas..no lo dudes, comprala no te arrepentiras!!!

Very precise, the Wifi connections are easy to establish, the graphs are very helpful. I own two of them in different residences, and I can still have continuity with the graphs through the same account.
