Very light weight. Can do a lot of miles in the Scottish mountains with these. Have worn them in Summer only and hopefully they will put up with future Winter conditions.Edit 26/08/2018.Walked from Auchallater to the Munros, Tolmount & Tom Buidhe. The ground was soaking because of the all day rain and these didn't let any water in.

Meindl gtx respond. These are the best walking shoes of this type you can buy. This is my 3rd pair. This is also the best price you will find online. Hope this info saves you some time.

I use these boots as every day footwear. I have very flat feet, these boots are very supportive.This is my 3rd pair and the only problem I have found its obtaining size11.5.

Bought them because of Meindle's good reputation and because I got tired of seeing my usual brand of hiking shoes having worn out soles after about 1500km. The Meindl Respond mid GTX was indeed very comfortable and lightweight. But after less than one year and only 750km (no mountains, only light backpack) they have completely worn out soles and the stitching is coming apart. And worse: despite the Gortex lining every rainy day or walking in wet grass soaked my feet.Conclusion: fine boots for strolling around in dry conditions, not suited for more serious hiking.

Yes these boots are comfortable out of the box so I was initially happy with them.BUT the first time I used them in the wet both boots leaked. I found this hard to believe and tried again walking in wet grass - they leaked again. So they were returned as not fit for purpose

A nice pair of boots, comfy from the box. I have mainly used these on flat walks and jaunts out on my mountain bike.

I needed a pair of good boots for a hiking holiday booked for next year and decided on these boots. At first I just used them to take my dogs for a walk just to break them in but the true test was wearing them to test them out up Ben Lomond. The day I went was not what I would call the best day to go as it was damp and windy. The boots performed great though, the soles kept my feet cool as I can sometimes suffer from hot feet which can be a tad uncomfortable. On my ascent the path was very wet and I wash't slipping about. The grip was very good and responsive. The gore tek kept my feet dry which was a bonus. The boots felt as if I was wearing trainers.The boots were a find. Very good and well worth the money.

Hallo, war erst super zufrieden mit dem Schuh. Tolles Design, halbwegs gute Sohle, sehr bequem zu laufen und wasserdicht.Leider sind bereits nach 1 Jahr beide Schuhe absolut nicht mehr wasserdicht (bei gelegentlicher Nutzung) und bereits nach wenigen Minuten durchnaesst. Dazu kam noch, dass ich sehr starken Juckreiz an beiden Füßen bekam, am Abend des 1. Tages nachdem diese Schuhe durchgenässt sind. Gehe davon aus, dass sich dabei Chemikalien losgeloest gehaben und über die Füße aufgenommen wurden... Ich habe noch ein teureres Produkt von Meindl, sollte es dort die gleichen Probleme geben, werde ich kein Produkt dieses Unternehmen mehr beziehen... Diese Schuhe kann ich jedenfalls nach dieser Erfahrung überhaupt nicht empfehlen.

Perfekter Wander- und Sportschuh. Leicht und angenehm zu tragen. Sohle griffig. Auch bei Winterwetter zu empfehlen.Bei wärmeren Temperaturen fühlt man sich auch wohl und bekommt keine "Schwitzefüsse".

Meine bisherigen Meindl-Schuhen liebe ich über alles, aber das war ein Fehlkauf.Schuh passt, keine Blasen o.ä., die Verarbeitung ist gut, aber im Gegensatz zu meinen Leder Wanderschuhen schwitzeich darin wie nix!Also, wen das nicht stört und die Dinger draußen lässt, kann gut zuschlagen;mich nervt der permanente Käsemief und ich hätte mir von diesen leichten Wanderschuhen mehr erhofft.
