TiVo Series2 and Series3 Replacement Internal Fan (Will NOT fit in TiVo Premiere, TiVo Roamio or TiVo Bolt)

Really appreciated the clarity of instructions -- though it was just as I expected, with electronics it's always great to be precise, because one mistake can ruin not just the part but the entire unit.Fan is silent, looks like the factory one installed, and was a breeze to install. No pun intended. Highly recommend this.

Searched for a specific model of cooling fan for TiVo. Weakkness sent the wrong model which was therefore too big to fit the device.

I recently replaced the hard drive in my TiVo HD XL (essentially a Series 3 TiVo, purchased in 2009). I figured that since I was replacing the hard drive, I might as well replace the fan. The fan sold here is a "drop-and-replace" unit. It has the same dimensions and electrical characteristics as the original fan. However, it is NOT the exact fan, as it is LOUDER than the original fan.The original fan, also made by Cofan, is Model No. F-7025L 12F TV1. Compared to Cofan F-725L 12F (i.e., the fan being sold by Amazon), the original fan is constructed slightly differently in the way the armature is attached to the housing; perhaps in an important way, because the original fan is VERY quiet. I suspect the "TV1" suffix means that F-7025L 12F TV1 was designed with the idea of being as quiet as possible. The replacement fan sold here is not all that loud, but is still quite noticeable - I doubt most people would want this fan running in a bedroom, for example.If your old TiVo fan is working OK, then I would leave it in place. If it's gone bad, then this is still your best alternative as far as I can tell. I put the old fan back into the unit, and my TiVo is again as quiet as a church mouse. I have decided to keep the fan sold here for that day when the OEM fan finally dies.

The fan was fine, it was just 50% too big. As a result, I went onto YouTube and watched a video on how to oil my existing fan. This worked perfectly.

It's a fan; it works well as a replacement fan for a TiVo, but the WeaKnees price is higher than it should be for comparable fans.

The fan in my TiVo HD had developed a bad bearing noise. This replacement fan was identical to the original and it's great that the torx drivers you need to do the replacement are included. They give you a link to the instructions on their website. You use one driver to remove the screws to open the case, slide the lid off, and use the other driver to remove the screws that hold the fan. Pull off the connection to the motherboard and then reverse the process to install the new one. It was very easy to do, and the new fan started up without a whisper. Exactly what I needed for my TiVo HD XL box! The original fan started making loud noises at times and would stop turning causing my TiVo to overheat and freeze-up while I was out of town. Very frustrating. So rather than buy a new TiVo I decide to see if I could replace the fan. Perfect fit and the kit included all the tools I needed (two torx allen-wrenches, that's it!). Very easy to do!

This fan is too BIG to fit in the TIVO box. So the fan is USELESS!!!
