Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children: The Graphic Novel (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children: The Graphic Novel, 1)

A great transition to graphic novel for Mr. Riggs' original book
The changes from B&W to color (and back) are very well handled to designate when the main character is in the "normal" world versus the world of the Peculiars. Ms. Jean is also excellent in conveying emotion and story even in passages without dialogue, in fact this seems a particular strong point in this book. Warning: some of the monster scenes may be a bit too spooky or frightening for very young children. This is not a book to read to young kids at bedtime. But you would already know this if you read Mr. Riggs' excellent original. This graphic novel is a very successful transformation of the written word to a visual medium. It even uses some of the photos in the original book to great effect. A very nice, beautifully bound book that feels like a quality product to hold and enjoy. Highly recommended.

Really Great!
The graphic novel stayed really true to the original book. But like other reviewers have said, it's probably a good idea to read the book first if you want the whole story because the graphic novel does leave a lot out. I was fine with what it left out though because they left some of the parts that I found to be a bit more uncomfortable. VERY MINOR SPOILER(Like when Uncle Oggie gets huffy over Jacob saying about refugees.)/SPOILERThe only downside was that my copy, at least, smelled horrendous. After reading it for maybe half an hour I felt sick to my stomach. Didn't stop me from finishing it though. Just... don't hold the book too close to your face.

Awesome Graphic Novel
I loved how they did the drawings of the present in black n white and drew the past in color. Great book. Wonderful story for the graphic novel version.

Lovely Illustrations
Another great adaptation, though it's definitely lacking the rich detail of the novel. I wouldn't recommend reading this unless you've already read the novel - I'd fear that it would put you off the book. (Although I suppose it could peak your interest and make you want to read the novel!)This edition gives a great overview of the plot. It's the children that get left on the wayside - in the novel we're introduced to many children and there's a lot of detail about their talents. In this version, mainly Emma and Millard showcase their talents, and even that is at a minimum. The danger of the situation also feels downplayed. But, having already read the novel, this book was a great refresher for the sequel that's coming out soon, and I really loved the art style. It was edgy and the colors simplistic, but I enjoyed looking at each page

Most unique book I've read in ages
I was a huge fan of the main book, and also a lover of comic books and graphic novels. I saw a copy of a Miss Peregrine's graphic novel in Barnes&Noble, picked it up, and was thrilled. The characters look how I imagined them, and the drawing style in general was fantastic. I was relieved to see that it was not in the Japanese manga style that seems cheap, in some aspects, and greatly overused. I love how the lines were clean and that there wasn't an excessive amount of shading and extreme detail. The simplistic and charmingly messy art used for this book was perfectly coupled with the novel Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Good book
I read the original, I'm getting this for my daughter because she prefers graphic novels rights now...it's for Christmas so I guess we'll see.

I don’t get it....
I love graphic art novels and comics. I read the reviews that said the art was great in this. I have to fully disagree. The art was TERRIBLE. Most of it was done in black and white in a quick sketchy style versus artfully constructed scenes. The way the characters were drawn it was hard to tell who was a guy or a girl (other than Emma) from one page to another. This should have been epic! It’s Miss Peregrine and the Peculiar Children. I totally was underwhelmed and disappointed.

I like the idea of the book
I give 5 stars for the contents of the book but only 2 for the book itself. As the first three pages fell out the very first time I opened the book. I think they bound it too tight. The rest of the pages feel secure, although I haven't started reading it yet.I like the idea of the book. I read the text version but the graphic version should be more vivid reading. I hope they do the same for the sequels.

Awesome book
My 11 years old daughter just received it and went completely silent for a few hours, until she finished it. She told me that she enjoyed a bit more than the book.

🤔
Tuvo pequeños cambios, es un poco diferente al libro, y siento que no logró capturar la pérdida de Jacob, en sí el arte era agradable a la vista pero muy simple, pero aún así siento que vale la pena leerlo ya que es muy rápido de leer.
