I can weld!
I've had a Klutch Flux Core 125 for quite a while and was able to make some functional but extremely ugly welds over the years. Adequate for little projects around the house but nothing I'd ever trust for anything critical.After reading reviews on the 140i I decided to upgrade and give it a try.WOW!Right out of the box loaded a roll of Forney E71T-GS wire, did some test welds on scrap cut from a lawnmower blade. Using settings outlined for 1/8" steel, first time I pulled the trigger I was amazed. Better than the best welds I ever made with the 125. Great penetration and control. Not perfect but first welds that looked good enough that I didn't need to spend more time grinding than welding. Didn't need to clean up the welds at all.For someone that welds regularly this unit may not be the game changer that it was for an untrained and infrequent welder like me. It is so much easier to weld with that I am sure I'll be finding more projects to weld.
