Used this in an attempt to get a 15 year old 0.21 buggy running (Hot Bodies Racing Lightning RR). Couldn’t get it running but this took the abuse of lots of cranking without issue. Just dabbed in a bunch of high performance grease at install.

I am new to the Nitro RC world and was finding it very difficult to hold the igniter on the glow plug, hold the car down and pull the starter cord all at the same time.This device solved that problem.My engine only accommodated three of the four included screws but that does not seem to matter at all.For me this was a better and more affordable alternative to a starter box.

The roto start itself seems great. The 1way bearings not so much. I'll order a couple good bearings from somewhere and use the backing plate/ starter.

Multiple reviews say these are absolute junk and melt or break on first use and my experience has been the complete opposite. They are powdered metal gears in a plastic housing with bronze bushings. DO NOT assume you can install this and run a high speed starting motor without damage straight from the packaging. Disassemble and grease all surfaces! I attempted to get a heavily worn out hpi .18 engine running with this starter and cranked on it for 15-20 minutes straight without stopping. Not a single issue with wear or damage to the starter. Proper installation and greasing is key to reliability.

They is the small Roto starter 11011 and probably the big Roto starter 11021 probably can fit most engines just check the backing plate.
