Fantastic sound, easy setup, good volume, and good fit after a few weeks
I waited a few months to review this because of some of the negative reviews. This is my personal and unpaid review. The sound quality is fantastic. The sound is impressive even with the bass boost turned off during normal TV shows. When I play a movie the bass boost adds just a enough bass to feel those explosions and heavy sounds. The clarity is fantastic. I can hear dialog better than ever. No need for closed captions anymore. The price compared to others is a little high but worth every penny, I wish I purchased them sooner. Connecting to TV is simple and easy. The batteries have outlasted my 5 hour marathons. They can also easily be swapped out once the start to wear down. The fit, They did feel a little tight when new but now they seem to have loosened up a bit and now feel comfortable. The are a little large so resting your head on a pillow could be a problem. Dropout, after months of use I did have dropout twice. My conclusion is that if the audio is corrupted or the audio feed drops below a certain level the headphone will not carry the bad audio and it sound like a dropout. I use a DVR and when replayed over the dropout reoccurs indicating it the sound feed and not the headphones. I prefer this over poor sound in the headset. Most people, while watching a TV show accept the video signal glitch from time to time but when the audio does it and your using headphone it becomes noticeable. As for the closed back design, I prefer the better isolation of background noise. If something loud happens in the house you will still hear it. The buttons for changing the volume would benefit from a better tactile felling. Maybe the + and - could be raised more than they are so they are easier to find. Be warned, this head set can be turned up very loud. if you have hearing problems these will do the job.

Great sound, whether in your ear, or kept out
These were purchased for a 93 year old profoundly deaf woman. The earpieces fit over her external hearing aids. 5 stars. The sound is astounding. She says it's like being in a concert hall, if it's music. Otherwise, it's either sports, old movies, or political news stations, all of which are crisp and clear to her. 5 starsThe exclusion of ambient noise is excellent. We have to stand in front of her to get her attention, because otherwise, even shouting, we won't be heard. When she removes them, her hearing aids return normal ambient sound availability to her, and, as much as she CAN hear, ambient sound returns. 5 starsShe wears these headsets whether she's sitting in front of the TV or not, virtually nonstop, in her single-occupancy apartment. Additionally, she routinely falls asleep while watching TV. As a result, they rarely make it to the charging base. As a further result, the batteries usually go flat on a daily basis. As often as I am able to encourage her to put them on the charge stand any time she takes them off, they rarely get that treatment. She's coped by buying AAA Lithium rechargeable batteries with an external charger, and cycles a spare set through in that fashion. This is NOT a problem for the typical user. When we can convince her to use the charging base, she's amazed at how fast they charge, and aside from trying to use the headsets on a 24/7 basis, you should have NO issues with battery life or recharge times. 5 starsThese are not the most expensive, and far from the cheapest WiFi headsets, but represent a great value. 5 stars

Good but not mind-blowing
This is my second pair of wireless Sennheiser headphones. When it comes to wireless headphones, I have found Sennheiser to be a decent choice. I have paid less and gotten better sound, but the comfort, build quality, aesthetics, and longevity of the product are quite good. With that said, Sennheiser headphones suffer from the same difficulties all wireless headphones seem to suffer from: poor audio, periodic cutting out when walking around the room, interference from surrounding electronics at times, and battery issues. Here are the positives for these headphones:1. I purchased these because I want to listen to TV and music without waking up and/or bothering my partner. Thus, sound leakage is paramount. These headphones are excellent in regards to sound leakage. I can turn this up quite loudly and she can't hear a thing. 5/5 for the primary purpose!2. The headphones come with rechargeable batteries. The system for recharging (i.e. the stand) is intuitive. in that the batteries recharge effectively and last for many hours.3. The headphones are comfortable. They offer a slight squeeze, enough so they don't fall off, but not so much that they are uncomfortable. Basically, a perfect fit for my 7 1/2 sized head.4. The bass mode is excellent. The primary competitor for these headphones are Beats. I have a disdain for Beats due to the low quality build and sound they produce. Yet, when it comes to wireless they are the best I have heard. My partner has Beats so I have a proper point of comparison. These offer slightly BETTER bass addition than beats. Surprising, right?5. For television the headphones are good. I can hear everything fine. When it comes to music though...Negatives:1. The music quality is low. To be fair, my normal headphones are Sennheiser HD650s. So the point of comparison isn't really fair. But still, even my Boss IE2s, Sony MDR 750s, and even my Soul by Ludacris headphones supersede these in sound quality for music. The bass is so good that I can overlook some of the music shortcomings when listening to music that is best with huge amounts of bass...but for an audiophile-seeking individual this is a poor listening experience. I normally listen to classical music when working and more pop-type music when listening for fun and emailing I would never listen to classical music with these. I'll just get frustrated. This is for bass-heavy music only.2. The batteries are rechargeable and so far things seem to be going smoothly. BUT, my previous pair of Sennheisers had serious battery issues. I am not sure how long these will hold up.3. I am aware these are not Bluetooth. I wasn't seeking Bluetooth capabilities. But wireless is synonymous with Bluetooth to some people (i.e. my wife). Apple seems to be moving toward an elimination of the headphone jack on their iPhones. People will be seeking wireless headphones - and these are NOT it. These rely on a 3.5mm audio jack. Also, don't expect to make phone calls with these on. These are for TV purposes.Bottom Line: Good sound quality for TV and they have very little sound leakage. But, remember the sound quality will be poor.
