CH11 6-Piece Artisan Chisel Set with 6-Inch High-Speed Steel Blades and 10-Inch England Beech Handles

I am very amateur when it comes to woodworking but this seems to be a good starter set. I got this along with the lathe and very happy with the sharpness and quality. The handles are a comfortable length and are easy to hold onto. The case is convenient for storage and holds everything secure. I am not familiar with the cost of the other chisel sets but this was not very expensive compared to others I viewed.

The tools are thick, which makes them sturdy and forgiving. It also means that the parting tool takes a lot more material than you might otherwise want. That's really the only tool that is affected by the thick steel of the tools. I figure I'll just grab a different parting tool for when I want to take less material. All in all, I was very pleased with the quality of this set. It has all the basic tools my turning instructor says you need along with one other that I think will be useful in making a few cuts easier than using a gouge. Usually when you get a "bundle" that includes "beginners" tools they end up being complete crap. Kudos to Wen for NOT doing that to their customers. FWIW most of the tools I purchase are DeWalt. If I can't get a DeWalt version, or if I don't want to invest much (usually when I think I will only get occasional use out of a tool) I buy Wen. They don't make "cheap" tools, they make "basic" tools - high quality, low price, only the features you need.

Good starter set for beginner at wood turning. Nothing fancy, good price, solidly crafted, nice storage case. Overall, for me, a good value for my investment.

Arrived in great condition, easy to use, easy to sharpen, and solid performance.

Quality not what I expected. Some arrived very dull & needed to be sharpened. One of the wood strips that holds them in place in the box wasn’t glued in place properly. See picture

The tools are made well and work great.

So far the tools are good. Keep you a grinder close to sharpen them , a couple seem to lose sharpness pretty quick. The case it comes it was a wreck but no damage to tools easy fix with glue. For a beginner you can't go wrong. I bought these for my grandson when he come over to use.

This was my first foray into turning. Without experience with other brands, i can say I was very happy with this set. It has everything I required, although I may yet buy a bowl gouge. I found they were pretty sharp and held an edge OK. I had to sharpen after 6 smaller projects, but these were all very hard woods. They do not seem to run as smooth or cut as much as the youtube videos I learned on, which is likely part technique part tool. But for a beginner, these do what you want, and if you get more serious you can spend more for higher end tools. But as a whole set of 6 tools cheaper than even a single high end tool, its perfect for beginners.
