I remember my mom wearing this watch once upon a time and I was obsessed with the map timezone buttons. (This was before cellphones, and let me tell you, animations on a watch screen were really cutting edge). It's not only a nostalgic piece, but a functional one. It has timezones, it has a really useful timer-- it was chock full of functionality then, and still is.I got this watch both for the nostalgia and the desire to migrate away from digital/spying on you things. The fact that it is styish and classy without being expensive makes it the thinking man's (or woman's) perfect choice for a watch.

Very cute and great quality

This is a really nice and classic look from Casio. I like the unique globe image and time zone feature, even though I don't really use my watches for more than the current time. The resin watch band conforms well to even my skinny wrists, though it does pinch hairs. The band has an almost matte finish, not overly glossy like chrome. This may be a plus for some. Personally I think it goes well enough with my skin tone and wardrobe, so I don't mind.Unfortunately, the watch is really light and feels cheaply made, specifically the band. I would gladly have paid twice the price if it had come with a gold metal band. The band does come off easily, though, so a replacement band is a relatively easy fix.The backlight is a warm amber glow that emanates from the lefthand side of the watch face, instead of a glow-in-the-dark green or harsh white. The light lends itself to the retro feel of the watch for sure. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite watches, even over some that are nearly 10x the cost.

Light on the wrist and easy on the eyes. I love it. Beings back some nostalgia.

Having owned the Casio AE1200, a very similar world time watch with More Water Resistance! More Case Diameter! More Words Written on It!, I found the A500 to be a much nicer presentation overall while preserving all of my favorite features of the module.-You still get the super fun world map display (it’s blue for the silver version and green for the gold.)-You get a countdown timer (super rare outside of G-Shock for who-knows-why. I find it way more useful than a stopwatch)-You get 5 alarms-You get world time-You can mute buttons-Yes, the button tone changes when you get back to main time screen-You get the super cool amber backlight-Because said amber backlight is LED, rather than electroluminescent, you get a very sharp and clear LCD. (It’s silvery-grey for the silver case model and slightly golden for the gold model).Additionally, you get a design aesthetic that is in keeping with other vintage-style Casios like A158 or AQ230.Some of the drawbacks, however, may be-Shorter battery life?-Ambiguous level of water resistance-No digital-analog display for viewing two time zones at once-Doesn’t look like a Cold War spy gadget.Compared to the AE1200, the A500 just feels and looks a little more upscale and a little more mature. I have tried both this gold version, and the silver. Personally, I prefer the silver version. The steel-look just seems to fit the retro tech vibes. The gold is fun and reasonably well-executed by fake gold standards at this price point, but I think I’d prefer it on a different model.All in all, the most versatile watch in the vintage line of shiny-resin-body-on-steel-band Casios.

Love everything about this watch. Hilariously my third Casio watch, I love the amber light and the world clock component. Perfect for traveling and for having friends/family around the world to see if it’s a decent time to call them.

Seems like these watches were much heavier / quality feeling.. So light, makes it feel kinda cheap.. works fine tho and looks good.

I love this watch; It's lightweight, but well made, and it looks awesome. I was a little disappointed that it's water resistance doesn't recommend it to get any more wet than a splash of water. Manual was very clear on how to set it up. It has some awesome features including a daylight savings time option, time zones, stop watch, timer and alarm.

Die Uhr hat mir leider nicht gefallen und habe sie auch zurück geschickt .Sah nicht so aus wie auf dem Foto und war auch viel kleiner als erwartet.

Mi mujer se encapricho con él y yo en un primer momento no me llamó demasiado la atención pero una vez recibido en casa, los dos nos quedamos con la boca abierta. Es un reloj super económico, muy bonito en general, con una gran maquinaria que funciona perfecto y a un precio sin competencia. Nos ha gustado tanto que yo me he comprado un CASIO de otro modelo. Como siempre, Amazon, impecable!!!!!
