Q: Can you see the soap through this when it's full?

Nope, it's not clear. Which is exactly why I bought it. You can get any color soap and you won't see it.

Q: Is the pump part metal or plastic

The container is ceramic but the pump is plastic. That said, it’s the best one I’ve found, and I was looking far and wide for a non-plastic option including olive oil dispensers, but in the end I found using this with Castile soap is the best solution I could come up with.

Q: How well does it spring back up from pumping? I have others that stopped coming back up after depressing because I use a Bronners mix I assume.

We have had no problems with this popping back up after pumping. We use foaming soap that is intended to dispense thru a foam dispenser and comes that way. We do not mix but just transfer into this bottle.
