Can you reset the steps/distance so you can do more than one set or walk?

Hello Sara,Sorry for the late response; The answer to your question is yes. You can reset the steps/distance as many times as you want during the course of the day. There is a cumulative total that gets saved. So if you record your steps before you reset them, then you can keep a history of the sets during the day. By the time the next day rolls around, the memory only save the cumulative total for that day, not the individual sets. Just press the bottom most button to clear and reset each count, which btw does not affect the total count for the day. Cheers, -Ben

Does it record steps if you carry it a purse or waist pack.

I don't know about a purse, you set it down so often. A waist pack would be better, or clipped to a soft strap worn under your clothes. HTH

I bought this because it said it showed "stairs climbed", where is that displayed?

I’ve had 3 of these devices over the past several years and still use one. None of them ever had capacity for tracking stairs climbed separately from steps

How many steps do you have to take before it starts counting steps?

Not very many, maybe 15-25 I think I haven't specifically checked this out, but seems that is my recollection when I have noticed.
