Shanling ME100 Single Driver IEM Earphones - Black

When researching a better pair of earphones this was the constant problem - they were being reviewed listening to music I'd never heard of by artists I'd never heard of......Then I read the review in Gramophone ( July 2019 ) which ended "they need to be heard to be believed" having thoroughly reviewed their pedigree, construction, value and, of course, their performance. That gave me the answer I went with.And I have absolutely no regrets.They are real quality from the boxing to the many choices of tips.*They are very comfortable due to the cleverly designed, gentle ear loop which one cannot feel once on and onto which the actual driver housings, a mere 5g, clip and pivot holding the earpieces in place with no risk of them falling out.Brilliant.Sound ? Superb.Across a wide range of music from 18th - 21st centuries , Bach to Bruckner, Haydn to Ligeti, solo lute to chamber music to full orchestra and chorusthey give remarkable purity, clarity of instrumental colour and a wonderful stereo space .... a concert hall in your head !I've enjoyed using these little gems immensely and would thoroughly recommend them .* Inside the smart black box is an equally smart, smaller, brown leatherette box housing the buds and cable..Above, set neatly in hard foam, are 9 ,yes, 9 pairs of tips in addition to those on the earbuds.But don't stop there.....under these is hidden card box with a finger hole....Inside this is an explanatory leaflet and a small cleaning brush !I only found these thanks to the review in Gramophone.

Excellent, very balanced sound. Superb quality. Ideal companion to my Sony NW-A45 DAP.Update:Left earbud stopped working few days after one year warranty period expired (seller didn’t want to replace/fix it). Right one has issues with connector (occasionally stops working). I really liked them, but they are going back now (Amazon will refund me although warranty has expired)

Good but slightly unusual sound signature- mid focused, though has good bass and trebleSeems well made, easily driven by an iPhone
