I've only ever washed one or two hats that i've had in the past. they never held their shape so i decided i was done washing hats. With the cost of new hats these days and the number of dirty hats i have that are still in good shape, i decided it was about time i did something about it. I read a number of reviews that rated this low but saw that those reviewers may have not been using it correctly. It's not really recommended in a clothes dryer but folks were doing it and coming out with broken or warped frames. I used the dishwasher on a warm setting as my dishwasher does not have a lower setting. I don't have the option of turning off the high heat dry so made sure that I pulled the hat out as soon as it stopped the wash. there were a couple of areas where some of the soap and dirt had collected around some seams but I took a nylon brush with some warm water and brushed those away before the hat dried. I then put the hat back in the hat washer and left it on the counter for a couple of days to allow it to dry completely. The hat came out clean and retain it's original shape. The hat washer itself had no warping or broken pieces. It worked perfectly. If you follow directions, treat it with care and caution and don't use high heat or a dryer that throws it around, you should have no issues. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone looking to purchase a hat washer.

It worked well in the dish washer

My dishwasher is currently out of order so I threw these in the washer after they’d soaked for an hour in Carbona Rust & Perspiration. The front two caps pictured have already been cleaned. The back two were about to go in the washing machine. The rack stayed together and the caps came out of the wash still in perfect condition. The connectors that hold the top and bottom sections together are sturdy and seem like the racks will hold up to many trips through the washing machine. The cleaner and the racks did the job. Several hats saved that were about to be trashed due to sweat stains from the summer.

I’m glad I can wash my husbands hats now, but I’m not quite sure of the sturdiness, one opened up during the wash cycle, and another one got tangled with other clothes.

As most of the reviews my hats came out exceptionally clean having a nice fresh scent. They look as good as the day I bought them however I'm not hard on hats. Its that I wear them for so long it gets to the point my wife begins to spray with colon. In one review it suggested using a bread tie to keep the hat rack from coming apart in the washing machine. I don't know if I really needed it or not but everything worked out well.

Somemtimes they come apart in regulat spin wash. Better in dishhwasher or on gentle.

These have zero strength to withstand use in a washing machine. Very cheap plastic mouldings - did not survive a single use in the washer. The first time I thought it was perhaps there was a towel in the machine with it, but the 2nd one broke with a half load of light clothes. Both snapped in exactly the same place - by the clip on the side. Packaging said "Now more durable"....well the previous version must have had the strength of wet tissue paper for them to boast of the increased strength.
