Belkin Tunebase FM6 With App

To start I purchased it because of the rds option, it really shows the artist and song name on ther radio, great for that. But should have better got the one that plugs an audio connector in the earphone jack. Would have been Less trouble and frustration , believe me. It started failing right after day two, like others said I did not know when Mister Tunebase wanted to work.So I browsed the Internet , found no solutions just complaints , and returns . So I decided to see if the problem was a bad connector. Took to a friends electronic repair shop, and borrowed the big magnified glass with light they used and finally could see the problem . The cheap apple connector they used. Some pins were not at the same level as others , that means that the charge pins were more out of the plastic to make contact when the iPhone goes in than the communications pins. But they are tiny! Microscopic! I needed to take an staple off a paper sheets and file it to make it thinner ( yes THINNER , use the magnifier) that could use to push the pins outer of the direction from front to back of the tunebase connector. Just insert this "tool" In the upper part of the connector. you will see that pins are just metal sheets and end right there. It worked almost completely , now it works everytime and from time to time I get message not compatible when plugged in, just remove power, without removing iPhone and it works fine, other times it stops charging but music keeps going, so I'm cool with it, at least works when I order it to . If you are planning to buy one, Better get another model or brand, if you already have it and can't return it, you can try my solution , hope it helps

Overall I really like the product when it works (I live in a semi-rural area, so finding a station was fairly easy). I like the ease of putting my iPod on it, and the fact that it is easy to reach/see when plugged into the accessory power outlet. Unfortunately, if you hit a bump in the road or curve an off ramp from a highway a little quickly, the holder turns and drops down. The movement is just enough to disrupt and disconnect the power. The other problem is that quite often when I plug it in it does not power up. I have checked the connection frequently!! Also, the first one I ordered lasted less than 1 yr when it completely stopped working. Got a replacement that had all the same issues and has recently stopped working. This is totally unacceptable for the price paid. I will not buy it again.

This gadget works well (at least better than other devices I tried) but have some issues:1- No play buttons, so you have to actually play and manage your songs from the iPhone (Actually this is the only feature i'm missing from Griffin).2- Sometimes a message pops up when you connect your iPhone that this accessory is not supported, it will go away if you just unplugged and replugged the iPhone.3- If you turn the car off for a while, you will get a totally new frequency every time you start the car.

This product is a great purchase for those who don't have a direct line in for audio to their video. The app for the iPod/iPhone makes handling this unit very easy. It is quick and simple to operate from eith the unit or through the app.This unit also does a wonderful job transmitting. The audio is clear and relatively free of static once a good station is found. The unit also transmits RDS info really nicely to your vehicle's radio. It is nice that you don't have to look at the iPod/iPhone for the info.I recommend this product!

My brother-in-law had a previous version of this product for an iPod touch. It worked great on a recent long trip we took together. I decided to purchase an upgraded model for my iPhone 4. I could not get this to work at all. I downloaded the iPhone App, but when I started it and plugged in my iPhone on this device it would not recognize my iPhone. It charges my phone, but will not transmit audio... Too expensive for a charger! So, I returned it and will continue to search for a better product...

Terrible product that has many issues. Cheaply made, lots of static., iPhone often doesn't recognize it. Do not buy this product. Cheap.
