I purchase this binoculars for my recent Baltic cruise vacation. My first pair binoculars were 12x25 that I purchased years ago and I was looking for something with better range and night vision to use on the cruise ship. I used these new 12x40 binoculars a lot on my balcony to watch islands/lands, vessels and boats from distance when cruising in the Baltic sea. They magnify excellently with great image quality, even in bright light and low light. Overall great quality and value.
