Worked out of the box
I replaced a 96" magnetic ballast with this unit today, immediately after receiving it. Since it is light, it was easy to install without removing the fixture. With the power on, I inserted the two bulbs - nothing. When I cycled the power, everything worked fine. They do not work like the magnetic version, but they do work. And, no hum or flicker - I don't miss either one.Well worth the price. If it proves to be unreliable I will edit the review, but I suspect that will be unnecessary.

Easy repair job.
Worked great. My old ballast died out in the winter, and this part was an easy (and much smaller and lighter) replacement. All the colors matched the wires already in my two lamp t12 fixture, so I just had to snip the wires and swap it out. Really easy and a massive cost saver, and the new lamp works great. Pro tip: I got these ideal brand in-sure wire connector things that made the install and the wire connections an absolute breeze. So happy with this part.

great price. good quality.....NOT
This ballast is for the high output stuff, which I had trouble finding elsewhere. These are programmed start ballast, which will give your lamps a lot more starts than rapid start ballast, or quick start ballasts. For the price, I don't think this can be beat! Compared to the rest of the lights in the shop that have new bulbs, the ones with these ballasts are running brighter than them by a long shot! I'll probably be doing the rest of the lights in my shop with these new ballasts now.OCTOBER 2019 UPDATE: 2 out of 3 ballasts I bought went out. I bought 2 more today, and already had a spare on the shelf.FEBRUARY 2020 UPDATE: now that some time has gone by, I can tell you that these are absolute pieces of junk. I used the spare that I had on the Shelf replace whatever ballast went out from the last update. The other two set on the shelf and I never bothered fixing the other two bad ballasts. And then I just had another ballast go out that I had replaced from the last update, and neither of the new ballasts that I bought that I put on the Shelf worked. I took a ballast out of another white and put it into this one after I found 122 volts on the line coming in, thinking maybe I had a problem with the rest of the assembly. And it worked fine. These two ballasts that I bought that sat on the shelf for however long, both went bad while sitting... This is obvious junk. And I was so happy before by having something like this with a pretty good price. Well you obviously get what you pay for. Do not buy these. Just go ahead and convert away from T12 it's a dead technology anymore. LED lighting it's the way to go and it has been since 2016.Okay it's now near the end of February and the other two ballasts that where in my other shop lights have went out. So all of the balance that I have bought went out within a 12-month period, including two of them that we'll never even installed. I just picked up some ballast for twice the price from Menards, and they were much heavier and much larger. Which means that these were well under engineered. Just go elsewhere. Do not buy these. Not mustard trying to flip a house or something in your getting out of there. Such poor quality

Programmed start ballast - gentler and more energy efficient.
Out of sheer luck, actually, I purchased this ballast and knew nothing about "programmed start" ballasts. Now I know, and I'm glad I bought this one. I have two F96T HO fixtures in my garage; one still uses a "rapid start" ballast, but the defective ballast has been turning off for several minutes for many years and I should have taken care of this years ago.Programmed start ballasts take about 2 seconds to light the bulbs, unlike the rapid start ones which are instant. However, the two seconds is worth it because the method is gentler on the bulbs, extending their lives, and are best in fixtures which are turned on and off a lot. The brightness of the bulbs in each fixture look identical to me. The programmed start ballasts are also more energy efficient, which is a bonus because sometimes I forget to turn them off before retiring for the night. The wiring of the new ballast was plug-and-play, all wires were color-coded the same as the old ballast and I just had to cut and splice them in. I'm very pleased with this ballast.

Ballast working perfectly.
Works perfectly, zero issues. If you really love instant-start ballasts, this one will probably drive you nuts, as there's a brief delay (maybe a second). I could care less about start delay, and this fixed my F96T12HO fixture in minutes. Back to good as new.Follow up: 10 months later, and still working perfectly with zero issues.
