Eazypower 30354 5/8" Countersink 1/4" Hex, (1per Pack)

It seems to be really hard to find a good countersink that fits into my Craftsman 1/4 inch hex quick connect. I had found a cheap one locally, but it just mushed through the material instead of actually cutting the countersink hole.This countersink is well made - I can see that the flutes on the countersink are actually set to cut the material, unlike the crappy one I had before. The package says it is made for countersinking wood, plastic, and metal.

It's SHARP, well made, no chatter, clean cutting..

Great for harder woods and softer metals, but doesn't work well with any series of stainless steel I've tried...regardless of drill speed or cutting fluid.Doesn't necessarily mean it's a 'bad" product, but it does mean that Easypower should say "for most softer metals" instead of "for most metals".

Nice clean cuts. Works much nicer than the china ones that always leave the holes a little ragged.Have a few thousand cuts on plastic and softer woods on this one with no signs of dulling.Certainly worth a couple extra bucks.

I am a countersink junkie. I countersink almost every screw I work with. My dad used to work for a large machining company and I could buy god countersinks through him.... sadly (happily for him) he retired.Pro - Well it seems (I guess is) good quality, but read on.Con - Again, seems great cut edges and all around nice, but it works terrible. The ones I used to get from dad made a perfect round countersink. Others I have bought made a "closer to round" countersink, but a little oblong. This thing leaves you with a weird, bumpy star-like counter sink. Now yes I could probably work out or play with it and get it better, but I shouldn't have to. A good countersink is a 2 second "zip" and then screw... this one doesn't do that.

Handy to have in any toolbag, I have one that fits in my drill but this one works with my quarter inch Hex impact driver

This countersink seems to be good hard steel and sharp. The faceted shank is a nice feature. A quality product.

This product arrived exactly as described. I bought this just for making a light chamfer on soft annealed brass. In one day, the cutting edges show wear. I should note that I use this with a battery operated screwdriver (which it fits perfectly) so I'm not using much force when chamfering. This should perhaps be used only for occasional use or suited best for soft plastics.
