Anatomy for Fantasy Artists: An Essential Guide to Creating Action Figures and Fantastical Forms

There is a lot of photo reference in this book, as well as several approaches to "fantasy" art. I've been a graphic artist for decades, and almost immediately I noticed an improvement in my work. Parents might want to have a look through, as some of the art and photos might be considered racy by some (I didn't think it was anything particularly salacious, but your mileage might vary). Overall, I reference this book virtually every time I practice drawing, and the only drawback is that it doesn't lie flat when open. I'll be looking to see if the author has any other art instruction books!

Exactly what I hoped

This book has a great comprehensive take on all areas of fantasy art. It teaches you how to use real life photographs for poses, as well as explaining motion, emotion, color and costumes.If you're just starting out, I would highly recommend getting it.

Not what I expected. Lots of other instructions from other people and bad drawings from other artists. Not all Glenn Fabry, but still worth it for his brief painting tutorial. No incredible revelation will come from this book, but was a good interesting purchase.

Honestly, I am impressed about how bad this book is.- The art itself is subpar.- The designs are cliché and thus ultra-boring- There is not much about anatomy, just skeleton, muscle, and poses for the mentioned boring characters.Do yourself a favour and do not buy this book.

Great Glenn Fabry. Very useful tips. Recommended book.

This is a great book to help learn the anatomy for basic movement in fantasy art. Would recommend it to anyone.

Just a fun go all aroun. Found it vèry inspiring. So watch out world of fantasy illustration here I come

This product is alright if you're looking for (limited) references, but it's certainly not the "essential guide." Wouldn't recommend
