Video Demystified: A Handbook for the Digital Engineer, 5th Edition

Leonardo Giordani pretty much nailed it. I was hoping that this book would help answer questions like "What is an initial object descriptor and why would I need one?" and the only answer I could find was a verbatim copy of the opaque language from ISO/IEC 13818-1. Its not quite what I was looking for, but I can see how some people could get a lot of value out of it.

A very well written book for technical people. The series is a great witness of the progress of TV technology.

This is a big thick book on what makes up the video signal. A good companion for someone studying to be a video engineer.

For some one who is a beginner with video signals and technologies, this book is a great starter book. Concepts are explained to great depths where needed.

I find this pretty mystifying still, reads more like an encyclopedia of video terms than a coherent presentation of video tech.
