Quiet, comfortable, solid standard keyboard & mouse bundle
What I love most about this keyboard is how quiet and comfortable it is to type on. The Microsoft Wired Desktop 600 has a good keyboard layout with some useful keys and a mouse that does the job. Design of keyboard - Full size keyboard: 6 block (insert, delete, page up, page down, etc.) is spaced out fully, as well as the arrow keys. - There is a slight slope that spans horizontally on the shift key row. - Function keys are spaced out in 4 key groups. Ex. f1, f2, f3, f4 are grouped, followed by f5, f6, f7, f8 Thoughts on the keyboard: - I like some of the extra keys on the keyboard, such as the playback buttons (play, pause, volume control), and calculator. - All the keys are spaced out well and does not feel cramped. - It is very comfortable to type on. It is quiet and have low-profile keys. Thoughts on the mouse: - It is very basic, with the only notable feature being the scroll button. - Right and left clicks are a bit loud. Definitely not quiet. - Good feel and responsive. The wired desktop 600 is of tremendous value, great to type on, and is very quiet.

great value keyboard!
I pound my desktop keyboards into oblivion. Letters wear off (not uncommon for anyone, really), keys have 50 mm fingernail grooves in them, and the physical attachment of the keys to the "stems" loosens and gets out of whack so that often I have to restrike the letter while I jiggle the Ctrl or Shift. I need to replace my keyboard once every 12-18 months. This one is a great value and is a regular sized keyboard. -Large- backspace key. Keys make an encouraging click. Key dip is nice (not like a laptop, where it's like typing on a chicklet keyboard). Good location for number keypad. Fcn keys. Just a really nice keyboard!! Buy one if you're a Luddite like me and prefer a desktop; or if you want to swap a "real" keyboard for the chicklet that comes with your laptop. mb

Tossed the mouse in a box
This is a very nice keyboard that came with a cheap disposable mouse. I tossed the mouse in a parts box - it might come in handy in an emergency. The keyboard itself is very good, with responsive keys that have tactile and audible feedback. The only extra keys are the audio controls, a calculator button that I have never pressed, and a Fn key between the right Alt and Context Menu keys. This keyboard is pretty close to a standard 104-key. The only "missing" key is ye old Sys/Brk. It's there on the Scroll Lock key, but it's not labeled.

Perfect
This is exactly what I was looking for. Nothing fancy. Just a nice reliable keyboard. The only 'option' I needed was volume control and it has that. The description wasn't real clear at the time I bought it as to wether it included a mouse....it does. I like it. It looks great. It's quiet and easy to use. I'm not a huge computer nerd (though I would love to be) and this is great for me, and I see no reason why a nerd wouldn't love it too. Buy it!! It's amazing for the price.

Wired Microsoft Desktop Keyboard
I bought a new PC in 2011 and the keyboard went out so I looked for something to replace it. This Microsoft wired keyboard is fantastic. It has 2 nice keys that my wireless keyboard did not have and I find I really like them. I love the CAP light and the Calculator buttons. They really come in handy. This is a desktop PC so the wired keyboard isn't a problem. Now when I use my laptop I find I miss those 2 keys I've come to rely on. If you feel you don't want to use up your USB ports, by a USB extension, I did and it works great. My Mouse, Keyboard, Printer, & Passboard backup are all plugged into that port and all but one port is free on my PC. I highly recommend this keyboard, it is comfortable to use, has the numbers on the right side which I love, the Cap light is a really nice feature, and I can't tell you how many times I've used that Calculator button. I still can't believe the price, boy, you get so much for so little money.

Basic linear travel, non-click, non-tactile keyboard - Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600
I had been using a Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 for about 8 years. My wife borrowed my PC one day and told me my keyboard was worn out and I needed a new one. I had purchased the Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 because it was inexpensive... thinking I would upgrade in the near future - but, I never upgraded and ended using it for almost 8 years. So, I decided to replace it and started doing research on Wikipedia on keyboards and keyboard switches to refresh my understanding of the technology. I learned to touch-type on a Royal mechanical typewriter and also learned to type on electric typewriters. Later I learned to use IBM punch card machines and had a little bit of experience with the IBM Selectric typewriter. When I started learning about computer science at school, I used all types of card punch machines, teletype machines, and dumb video monitor keyboards. A lot of those keyboards drew from the experience of mechanical typewriters and electric typewriters that people were familiar with - even though that didn't necessarily provide the best kind of keyboard. The Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 is absolutely nothing like typing on a typewriter 30 years ago. It is a "linear travel" keyboard without any audio feedback or tactile feedback. If you want to determine if this type of keyboard is what is best for you, I suggest you go to Wikipedia and read about keyboards and keyboard switches so that you will understand what you are buying. After that, you may want to go try-out different kinds of keyboards. After doing a reasonable amount of research I thought I might buy a keyboard that cost more than $100 - but, I came to realize the $28 Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 (Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0 included) was exactly what worked best for me.

Good keyboard, beware the letters fade really quick
Good keyboard, I purchase this keyboard on Feb 24, 2022, it a long time ago and I noticed that some of the letters on the keyword are fading away like the A and S. I have used other keyboards in the past not Microsoft products and the keyboard letters are still in good condition. I even have an old HP keyboard from 2009 and all the letters are not faded. Is this keyboard under warranty? Update from Microsoft, they do not give warranties for fading letters on the keyboard. This started happening about 9 months of purchase.

Not Wired, title is deceiving ! 600, 900, 850-Microsoft Wireless combos keyboards are the boom!
Nothing is better than a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard combo - due to the addition of the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center! I just hope they keep updating it since it seems Microsoft like to stop updating some of my favorites like WIN 10 !
