This clock looks smaller by how thin it is. It kinda looks like the styrofoam it comes with but it's like a thin particleboard. I was  a little miffed by the quality of this for $21 until I put the batteries in and saw the mechanism works well. The second hand is smooth with no noisy tick which is great for my bedroom and I'm sure it will look great. My biggest disappointment with this peice is that I expected the line design on it to be a gold sheen. It is just painted with a good optical illusion of this but it will not look the same with my fairy lights :/  Though I'm really happy with the mechanism quality and design of this clock I'm just too bummed by that small detail.  3.5 stars

This is very light weight and not very big.

This is a cheap piece of particle board, I'm guessing, that is painted or colored to look marble and elegant. It's very light and kind of flimsy; however, it is in my 12 year old daughter's bedroom and looks nice on the wall and works. Just not what I expected in terms of material.
