Crazy and amazing fights
The fighting scenes can be a bit tedious sometimes but they try to keep it fresh.

The movie that I had to watch
I loved the tenacity and relentlessness of John Wick. He was elegant in his violence yet unsettling, dark and completely captivating

Second Best in the Series
Without a doubt the first John Wick film was a blast. Fun, fresh and probably an unexpected hit. Hence the follow up films of which I thought the second was a bit off the boil. This, the third in the series has regained a bit of the pizzazz of the first whilst being bigger and shoutier.First off I see people commenting on the storyline. Er? What storyline? There isn't one really. It's simply a loose framework to hold together numerous long and well choreographed fighting scenes. There is some weird mystical cobblers set in North Africa but again, that's just another excuse for John Wick to have a load of fights, this time in cahoots with a randomly places Halle Berry for a bit of eye candy. Oh, and dogs.Once back in New York JW continues his cartoon like fighting spree the veracity of which makes a Marvel superhero movie look like a non-fiction work. The above is not a criticism though. No. The ultra-violence could easily drift off into something deeply unpleasant but instead the sheer volume and ridiculousness of it transforms it into more of a gymnastic event with added knives. It takes it into the realms of fanciful and thus prevents it from becoming dark and nasty. It's almost hilarious and that saves it.For me, I made the assumption that this film would be just as I described above. An OTT fight fest held together by the most tenuous of storylines and no effort made to be anything else. And given that I felt that it achieved it perfectly and provided a couple of hours of brainless entertainment. If I was to make a criticism it would be that some of the fighting scenes dragged on too long and were too repetitive. It's almost as if the director ran out of ideas - not that this film had many to start with - and then to make up the time simply extended each fight to fill the gap.Overall, a fun, cartoon like bit of fighting fluff.
