Relief at last!
Gideon, the youngest of the Yarbro brothers thinks he marries Lydia to protect her from the old man who's after her. What he doesn't realize is that the feelings Lydia developed for him as a small child (you'll have to read a previous title in the Stone Creek series for that back story) has also created feelings in him! After elements central to many stories set in the still-wild West--including a mine disaster, a gunfight, the development of a ramshackle ranchhouse into something suitable for a family with four children(!), this story ends as one would hope, with Gideon and Lydia together and expecting the birth of her own first child. A happy sigh of relief after the excitement of those last crises.

The book was great. I've had the honor of meeting Ms. Miller and was impressed with her genuineness, friendliness, intelligence. She's a fantastic writer and I always enjoy her books.Since this is the only way I can contact Amazon, I'm using this opportunity to say how disappointed I am with your customer service. I've ordered two books, the money was deducted from my account, but I never got the books. Three phone calls and LOTS of cell phone minutes and I still don't have my books and get NO help from customer service. I won't be ordering anything from Amazon again.

Author knows how to pull you into the story
Love is in the air with the Yahbro men. More than enough good guys to win multiple situations. Throw in a feisty housekeeper, two maiden aunts who are much tougher than they appear, you'll enjoy this story that takes place in the old West.Note that this book has explicit sex scenes for which I deducted one star.

Loved this Book!
Msg Miller has a wonderful way of writing novels about family, with each having a book of their own. We first met Gideon in the first Stone Creek novel as a child and with each story he grows a little bit more. He Mets Lydia when he is 16 and she is 8. This is their story 10 years later. A wonderful read.

Nothing to write home about
I liked the other Stone Creek books and hoped this one would fare as well. No. The book had absolutely no substance to it. Gideon doesn't want to be treated like Rowdy and Wyatt's little brother, but he acts like one. Lydia just wants to cry and mope to the other Yarbro brides. The mining story was beyond predictable, the old man Lydia didn't want to marry. Throwing in of two little old lady aunts for some comic relief didn't work; they seemed more like weirdos: still sleeping together? Hello. And, what is up with these stories where the man will not consummate the marriage because he wants to be honorable, but yet he will do everything else? Ridiculous, since you know it will ultimately happen.I can't recommend this book; it just didn't have much to recommend.

The Bridegroom
Good read. He’s the youngest of the family and she was a friend when they were kids. When they were young he gave her a letter and said if he was ever needed she was just to send the letter and he would come and so as an adult she did and he came. The only trouble is it ended up in an unwanted marriage which eventually turned to love.
