Extremely satisfying Dungeon Crawler
I have been reading extensively up on this game and seeing that a lot of Japanese Gamers did not enjoy it and I also read a lot about how it seems this is a persona clone. Well, aside from the characters being similar, the story and gameplay is completely different in all honesty. It plays out kind of like a fusion of persona 3 or 4 battles but also fused with Etrian Odyssey. It looks to be very similar to the upcoming Persona Q game. The main reason I read that people hated this game was because the story ended abruptly. Just know that that could have been the only reason the game was rated in Japan so low. Remember, over there they have millions of other options to play that we don't so they could obviously be a little bit more harsh. If you don't mind the story ending on a cliffhanger in preparation for a sequel, then this game could be the perfect Jrpg for you! Oh and there is no dating sim element as far as I can tell. Also even though the story gets cut off there is a LOT of reading. Good news is there is an auto option to easily go through it at least for me and there is an english or japanese voice over option. Conclusion. GET THIS GAME. Get it right now in digital for 33.99 or 27.00 for ps plus owners. I don't think you will be disappointed!

Fun game but with a slightly incomplete story
Story The basic starting story to Mind Zero is a group of high school students join a pact with their demonic counterparts from the inner realm called MINDS. It's hard to describe more than that in a review without explaining a large portion of the story since the story isn't too in depth. I found the story to be interesting but it's an incomplete one. The ending does end on a slight cliff hanger which leads off into what I take it will be a sequel to the game. Voice acting / music Mind Zero is completely voiced beyond some side quests which is much nicer than switching between voiced portions and ones that aren't which a lot of these games tend to do. The voice acting is all very well done. The sound affects are rather horrible though in the game. The sounds of running sounds more like a door knock. Music was good but nothing that made the soundtrack stick out beyond a couple songs here and there. Game play Game play in Mind Zero switches between Story events and visiting shops in the outer realm and exploring dungeons in the inner realm. Story portions of the game are all done in static 2D character images. Instead of moving your character around on the map you just move from destination to destination. Dungeons are explored in an FPS mode. Story events and bosses can be seen on the map before you run into them which helps you not lose progress by forgetting to save before a boss. A few regular enemy encounters can be seen on the map but most are random battles. The encounter rate isn't terribly high so fighting doesn't become an extreme grind which is nice. Battles are fought in FPS mode as well but you see your characters and their MINDS when they attack. Battles are fought in turn based combat by switching between using your character and their MINDS dependent on the situation. Leveling up is done in traditional experience. Attaining skills are found as battle rewards instead of gaining them through leveling up. Skills can be added and removed to characters as you see fit so you can customize them in a number of ways. The static 2D images and the backgrounds in story scenes all look really nice but dungeons and battles have fairly simple graphics which aren't really impressive at all. Overall Mind Zero was a very fun game but isn't impressive in terms of graphics. Story is interesting but doesn't provide a complete ending. Overall I'd recommend the game but don't expect the game to compare to other more known RPGs such as Persona or Final Fantasy since the game is from a much smaller developer.

Awesome game
Am older title for the vita, but a total hidden gem. Can't believe I didn't get this sooner. Great dungeon crawler.

Low budget Dungeon Crawler. Absolutely not Persona 3/4 rip-off, but still got some good ideas.
If you don't know what a dungeon crawler RPG is , don't waste your money on this one and go buy Persona 4 Golden and/or Persona 3 Portable (<- you can play the latter by downloading it from PSN Store). But if you're already experienced with DG RPG, all you have to know is that this one is very minimalistic, even for a 1st person dungeon crawler. PROS: - Its combat system is engaging and interesting to the point it manages to make up for most of its cons. CONS: - When in town, you won't see your character(s) walking down streets. All you can do is navigate a city map using a cursor. - its novel sections are SO disconnected - the characters art of the novel sections is boring and their variations are kept to a bare minum. You'll get used to it eventually, but the cover art is heavily misleading in this aspect. - Bootup sequence and saving/loading processes can take a minute or so.

Game plays just as one would expect given its very intriguing story and it's animated style genre, the game also arrived insanely fast which is a huge bonus. If your a fan of jrpg style games mind zero is a game you shouldn't skip over.

was chuffed to bits when this game became available through Amazon prime as I had been wantin it for ages and im glad to say its a geat game it reminds me of persona 4 which is a great game aswel, the dungeons are like mazes which is fine but can be slightly annoying but I don't mind it to much because the battles r enjoyable and in order to level up a lot u will need to engage in battles all the time as the bosses can be challenging but not impossible, the characters r great especially leo the guy is amusin as hell and the main character kei comes across brash but deep down thinks highly of his friends :) the story isn't the best ever seen basically they have powers and r been hunted because of it but I still enjoyed it and found it really enjoyable, just remember to save often in dungeons and take plenty of healing items especially if ur playin on hard as bosses r incredibly challenging if u don't prepare otherwise enjoy the game :)

Ich persönlich habe von dem Spiel mehr erwartet. Es kommt leider nicht an ähnliche heute heran (persona, 999). Doch etwas enttäuschend.
