Water for the soul.
Not for men per say, but gave me a great sense of belonging. Much needed approach to finding nurturance in a starving, dry, spiritual desert of a world.

High hopes........... but let me down
I really wanted to like this book. I have been looking for a few solid books that go beyond what most neo-pagan books do today. The other reviews led me to have high hopes for this title. The first thing I want to make clear is that this isn't a title that one would generally read from cover to cover. It is structured in such a way that one must take a little bit at a time. Normally I wouldn't mind this approach at all.The first negative I noticed was a complete lack of references. I immediately become concerned when there aren't any listed. As I started into the book I began to notice clear errors. One that I remember offhand was the authors reference to unicorns being Celtic beasts. Unicorns actually originated in Greek folklore and were most often depicted as coming from the east. In any case, as I continued reading on, I found numerous errors in historical accuracy. For someone like myself that is a stickler for such, this isn't the book for you. However, if one is willing to separate fact from fiction, there is some information that could come in handy.Another thing one must keep in mind is that this book is not solely Pagan, as it references elements of Christianity such as Angels, Christ, etc. I didn't find this bothersome as I already knew to expect it. There is a decent amount of lore in here, and concise astrological information which are both positives. Taking everything into consideration I feel that I can't rate this book any higher than three stars and I would normally rate it as a two based on historical accuracy. However, I realize others aren't as much interested in sticking completely to such standards and will find this work useful for what it is.

Sort of silly
Silly little book on each month lore. What flowers pertain to that month, spells, poems, meanings of flowers, weather, ointments, poultices...quirky little facts by month. It's cute and a nice fill-in book to check out each month as we enter. Wouldn't advise purchase if you are looking for a serious book, but a fun gift with a tin of balm or packet of seeds. Not sorry I spent the money because I have many workbooks that I depend on, but glad to have an interim read.

You'll be SORRY
Never fails. Order six books like I did and if 2 are really good, like some in my order there is sure to be a lemon amongst the other four. Welcome to the lemon. I bought this book thinking it would have a lot of herbal magick, like the back of the book and some of the 'HYPE' talks about. Very little if any is the reality. This is a very lame and light book with a hodge podge of cutesy little poems and way way way too much talk about 1. GEE SUS, 2. The Virgin 3. The Cross and other things Christian. Has some light facts about Astrology, very very basic beginner facts, but next to NOTHING about herbs. More cutesy little poems about nothing really than anything else. Horrible.

A Christian Wisewoman's Path. What a Rare Find!
A peaceful and loving monthly wisewoman's path. Although most works of this nature are pagan; Claire Nahmad brings a Christian twist filled with angels and Christian Holy Days to celebrate. Traditions reach centuries back in time when the influence of stars and planets on all things of the earth were acknowledged and accepted, and when practitioners of healing and herbalism, whose vision was holistic, took these influences into account and were expert in their understanding of them. This lore of the wisewoman teaches us how to love and revere the earth, how to respond to her magic and return in some measure the blessing and healing that we receive from her. What a great find.
