Velocity Youth Archery Race 4x4 Compound Bow Package

Not a bad bow. Bought for an early teen daughter for Christmas. Took the bow to the local bow shop for setup and found the bow doesn't go lower than 35#. The shop is going to short-string the bow for a little lower draw wght. It is what it is....and so far I'm still ok with it. As others have said.... This is a beginner bow....if in the future she loves archery...then at that time we can think of spending a little more money. This bow was a good deal.-----------1-19-15 <----------This bow is becoming a nightmare.

I bought this bow two years ago for my son who outgrew his Bear Apprentice bow. The Velocity Race 4X4 has been an excellent bow! Don't be confused... This is not a toy bow you might get at a local sporting goods store or at Walmart. This is a solid bow that is comparable to a Diamond or a Mission bow with adjustable draw length and weight.The finish on the bow is very nice. It is a cast aluminum riser, but it has been finished so that there are no rough or sharp spots I can find. We got the camo graphic and it is smooth and flawless.The sight is ok and the rest works great. We've already replaced the sight with a better one, but the rest and quiver are still on there.The bow is light enough that he can carry it around all day. We have incrementally increased the draw weight as he's grown stronger. Now, at 24" draw length the bow has maxed out at 40 lbs draw weight. As his draw length increases, so will the draw weight. For now it is enough.I recommend that you take it to an archery shop to have it bench tuned before shooting. We had this bow tuned for $10 and it shoots straight and he gets great accuracy with it. He regularly shoots 5" spreads from 30 yards with this bow. Very impressive!We are now shooting 3-D tournaments and will start hunting in the fall. My son loves the bow and I really can't say enough good things about it. I don't think you can go wrong with this bow if you are looking for maximum versatility for a growing archer.

If you are buying for a youth archer plan on taking the bow for a full tune up. Peep sight is set for a full 29 inch draw. Drop away rest was busted and seems like junk (add $35 for whisker biscuit) quiver and arrows are junk... the bow itself seems pretty nice and easy to adjust draw weight and length. Seller told me ah well not our problem in regards to the drop away rest.

Great youth bow. Bought this for my 12 year old son. He loves it. very easy to adjust the weight and length.

I spent quite of bit of time shopping for a bow to take my son hunting with me, I didn't want to fork out the money and took a chance on this one. I think it shoot better then the bear apprentice 3 and is half the cost. If they end up making a 70# draw I would try it.It's easy enough to adjust, and can be stepped up to grow with your kid. It's accurate enough for a 30 yard shot by a 9 year old to kill a deer.The arrow that come with it bent pretty Could be my only complaint but I didn't buy it for that.

Not able to set to lower draw weight as advertised without bow being loose and sloppy. If your kid can't draw 30-45 lbs (guessing here) then not a good choice.

this for the money is a nice bow, but they screwed up the draw weight range, it says 15-55 and its actually 35-55 im gonna have to send mine back.

Bought this bow for my 13 year old son.i would have to say this is a Awsome deal for the price.the bow is very well built.It does come with all accessories but had to have a bow shop set it up for us. The sight n drop rest are kinda cheap but for 150 for a compound bow I'm not going complain.I would recommend this bow to any youth hunter or even a bow hunter on a budget.after about a hour of shooting my son was holding 6 groups at 20 yards.

This product is just as it says it is. It is fun and easy to use. I would recommend. If you look on the manufactures website they have video how to manule. Very useful.
