BEST ACTION CAMERA!!! GOPRO KILLER!!
The media could not be loaded. I love this little guy! Had a GoPro Hero 4 Silver and the Osmo Action is SOOOO MUCH BETTER!!! This thing is amazing! I love the quick response when turning it on and immediately being able to start shooting. That was the first thing I noticed was how quick it was ready to start shooting. The quick switch on the side is great and I’ve used this for photos and video. Check out my video clip of my son and I playing with his hot wheels and using the 8x slow motion! I shot that entire video in 8x slow motion and created it through iMovie on my phone. I used it to speed the footage up too and it looks amazing! Yep this thing rocks in so many awesome ways!

Not for me
I've been an action cam consumer for many years. I use them about 7O% of the time for family videos to provide an immersive experience and 30% for action sports such as snow skiing, scuba diving, and cycling. The successful setup I've used in the past was an SJCAM 5000 with a Motorized Gimbal. Most recently I've been using a DJI Pocket Osmo, which I feel has its shortcomings (narrow FOV, needs quicker startup, focus pump, needs infinite focus, etc.), but all things considered it is the product I use now. I had high hopes for the Action given the many positive reviews on YouTube, but a few things made me immediately return it. First, the low light performance is not good and significantly worse than the Pocket Osmo. Secondly, the programming used for RockSteady to keep the image perfectly stable has some shortcomings. Most notably, there is some blur in the very middle of the picture even if the camera is kept relatively stable. You can't see this all that well from YouTube videos because of the added compression, but when you compare raw 4K videos (straight out of the cameras) between the Pocket Osmo and Osmo Action the difference is night and day with the Pocket Osmo significantly outperforming it.The following difference sort of surprised me, I did not like the heavier weight of the Action. It weighs almost double of the Pocket Osmo. I typically like the heavier weight because that many times reflects a more robust build quality, but when you take this device everywhere you go in your pocket on vacation, then it makes a difference. Additionally, the design of the two is so different. The Osmo Action has the lens exposed and the boxy nature of the case doesn't make it conducive for putting in your pocket whereas the Pocket Osmo, well, it is designed for your pocket. Slender with an awesome hard case that pretty much completely protects every part of it.I should also mention that with RockSteady enabled there is a significant amount of lag between what is seen and what is reflected on the displays on the camera. Reviewers on YouTube seem to be somewhat forgiving about this and think that a firmware update from DJI will resolve this. I'm not so sure, but it feels like DJI might have rushed this product to the consumer, rather than getting all the bugs worked out, and this feature is the very one everyone will be using with this device so it isn't minor.Ultimately, I do think this is a solid competitor versus the GoPro 7 Black, but if I was forced between the two right now, I would probably choose the GoPro to get away from the video lag issue AND I think Hypersmooth with GoPro provides less cropping when compared to the Action's RockSteady. Personally though, for my recording needs, I'm staying with the Pocket Osmo to gain superior video quality when compared to both. And if DJI comes out with a Pocket Osmo 2.0 with a wider FOV and a quicker startup time then I suspect they can just take my money straight away. :)

Great product and easy to use.
This was my first small camera for blogging. I like the duel screens over the Go Pro single screen. My only complaint, and it's not a deal killer, but you have to be careful when removing the memory card or the door to the access port can come detached. Just be careful when removing the memory card because it takes a little practice.
