Described as universal replacement for all 50A50 & 50A55 controllers
New control was easy to install & wire, took me less than an hour. It came with the jumper needed for RO1 to RO2 on the 12 pin connector, and extension jumpers which I didn't need in my Trane xe80 furnace. Original controller was a 50A50-473, CNT 2182. New controller works properly, but lacks the "heartbeat" flashing light feature to indicate readiness, and the faster flash to indicate a call for heat.As others have noted, one may have to drill new mounting holes for the control. I did, and used some self-drilling screws that came with it. If you do the same, don't let chips from the fasteners drop down inside the back of the control. Photo is of what fell from drilling 4 holes.I got a lot of benefit before purchasing this by reading other's reviews, hope this info will help someone else with an inoperable furnace during heating season.

Working perfectly.
My furnace blower started running nonstop and the code light was showing five flashes. I called in a technician and after collecting $200 from me could not find out anything. I went online and found suggestions that the board has gone bad. The model number of the circuit board in my trane xe 80 was white -rodger 50a50-473. However, trane has discontinued that model and I ordered 50a55-843 as a replacement. When I installed it I couldn't start the furnace. Then I saw the exact match online for $250 though used. After a long struggle making up my mind I decided to give it a shot. It came in two days early. And when I installed it my furnace started working like a new one. It's working as advertised.

Working great
Take your time and label everything, wasn't that hard to install. This replaced an older one I had in my trane and it wasn't a direct replacement. I did have to use the jumper wire on my install, other than that I just took pictures and swapped one wire at a time. Everything back up and running!

Best price on this control board replacement
Like many others, I had ridiculous estimate to replace this control board for a furnace that was intermittently failing. Local HVAC company wanted $1200 for this. I found them for $300, $145 and this one that was on sale for $82+shipping. I figured even if it didn't fix the problem, it was worth around $100 to replace our 19-year old version. Our unit is a Trane XB80. The old model was a 50A55-571. According to my searches, it had been replaced with this 50A55-843. This unit appears to replace multiple model #'s for Trane.I took tons of pictures before I started. I detached the old board from the sheet metal plate, leaving the old connections in place. The new board fit the old fasteners, so I didn't require drilling any new holes. Others here have reported the need to drill holes and us the supplied sheet metal screws. I got lucky I guess.I simply replaced each connection one-at-a-time from the old board to the new one. Super simple process. I double-checked the markings on the new board with the old. Everything fit as expected.*** NOTE ABOUT THE INCLUDED JUMPER WIRE *** There is another review here that mentions (and shows pictures of) the use of a jumper from RO1 to RO2 in one of the connectors. I'm not an HVAC guy, so even after reading that I forgot to do that. So when I turned on the furnace, I could hear connection but my digital thermostat had no power and the furnace wouldn't turn on. I triple-checked all connections and labels and it was indeed installed correctly. I come back here to re-read the reviews and saw his post again (with pictures). I then went back to the included manual and there was the note that the RO1 to RO2 was a required step that I missed. I inserted the jumper into the clearly-marked correct hole in the connector and everything worked great after that!So if you're not afraid of little DIY activity, this is really a cost-saver. I'm "handy" but by no means an HVAC expert. Even with all the triple-checking and rereading of the manual, I had this replaced in less than about an hour an a half.

3 stars for 3 years.
Direct replacement for my Trane furnace. Added the R01 to R02 jumper to override the flame roll-out feature. Worked great for 3 years & 2 months before I got erronouse high limit errors. Just bought my 2nd. Still way better then paying a tech $1k to replace with the same control p/n. And just bought a 3rd ad it was on sale at Home Depot for $109! Two spares now.

Fairly easy to install.
Replaced old model 50a50-473 with this model and was fairly easy to install. Labelled all wires on old unit before removing to facilitate reconnecting. Works great. I did need the provided jumper from R0 to R1.

The 50A55-843 is a direct plug-in replacement for the WHITE-ROGERS Emerson Elec. Co. 50A50-241
The 50A55-843 is a "universal direct plug-in replacement" for the WHITE-ROGERS Emerson Elec. Co. 50A50-241 furnace controller board. The product came in an OEM box, wrapped in an antistatic bag, and connection headers with wire leads and end-connectors (not used to replace the furnace controller board). After downloading the installation instructions from the internet for the 50A55-843, I reviewed the heat cycles and confirmed that this was a "universal replacement" for multiple furnace controller boards including my York 95 furnace controller board, the 50A50-241. I bought this product based on the comments of the "lockout codes" that others had shared in the comments where the red status indicator LED would continuously flash on/off after the start of a heat cycle and the fan would continue running continuously for the 60-minute lockout period. This would go on as long as the thermostat issued a "call for heat". If it was cold outside then it would continue until the outside temperature would warm up. Once I diagnosed that everything else was operational with the furnace control systems and pressure switch valves, I knew the 25+ year-old electronic controller board was faulty and had indeed failed. To replace the old controller board with the new controller board, I turned off the power to the furnace and then I switched the jumper wires from the old board onto the new board which was simple. After verifying that all the wires were completely transferred from the old to the new one, I then turned on the furnace afterwards and the "call for heat" cycle began as normal from my thermostat. After the "call for heat" cycle stopped, the motor stopped running and turned off after 3 minutes according to the specifications. It was perfect! I had to drill two holes for the existing self-tapping screws because the enclosure for the furnace controller board was shorter than the older controller board. I simply reused the self-tapping screws and it was perfectly secured in the same position as the old board, including the LED status light location for viewing through the clear window on the furnace metal blower door that also houses the electronics and wiring for the furnace. This is an excellent product and an exact drop-in replacement for my old furnace controller board (old = 50A50-241 ==>> new = 50A55-843).Before purchasing, confirm that your old or existing faulty or failed furnace controller board is on the universal product replacement list. Mine was on the list so it was an exact drop-in replacement.I hope you found this review helpful in making the right purchase decision for you and your situation.I also have an electronics engineering background and used to work in HVAC a long time ago.
