It works !
I purchased this to monitor amperage output of solar panels etc. I connected the unit as instructions, I was a bit worried about the device driver for the usb model seeing it installed a serial to usb driver. The first windows 8 computer with an arm chip and didn't work, The 2nd windows 8 64 bit the program installed fine, The 3rd 32 bit it worked fine also , all W 8.1 , After everything was installed and connected No readings ? Device drive was installed , everything seemed correct. not a good feeling for $300 but well worth it if it workedI figured I would call support, Answered quickly, They were surprised it wasn't working, installed Team Viewer and they found out I downloaded an older version of the software when the DVD actually had the correct version. We installed the version, up and running !Works great! I have over 6 different installations where I want to track Amperage to use this. Currently I am measuring the output of solar panels at the combiner box then I have a controller with software, I can see the loss of the long run of # 4 wire I have and controller efficiency.

Not worth the money
Current measurement is not accurate, I had to calibrate it through the software. Included software is not user friendly enough, for example, charts dont update if the view is maximized. It has to be plugged to collect data, which means you cant use it in the field.I think I spent too much money on this half baked data logger.

WattsView
We wanted a power monitor with Data Logging that would work with Macintosh. We installed WattsView, but there were some problems with our proposed application. For one thing, we had some trouble running on the Macintosh. That problem was promptly addressed by Customer Support. For a second thing, we wanted to monitor much lower currents than the design was made for (in our case 10ths of millamps ). Customer support was outstanding and very helpful. Our second roblem was solved expeditiously over a number of days. Our son, who was using this for a Science Fair project was subsequently one of the award-winning contestants, which would not have been possible without the excellent WattsView support. It is rare, in my experience that such support, with it's attention to detail and prompt response is available (including outside of normal office hours). WattsView is a great bargain!
