The Plastic Black Cap that fits over the vent holes after popping, won't stay on. My examination showed 8 raised ridges on the inside rim of the cap, which probably were put there to give a snug fit. Unfortunately, they do the opposite, and actually 'push' the lid off. I got out a razor blade, and shaved off 6 of the 8 ridges, and it works OK now. I sometimes wonder what has happened to basic engineering skills in this high-tech age...Frank in Tucson

Purchased this popper after our Westinghouse popper broke for the second time. This popper makes perfect popcorn! The lid is much sturdier than other brands I have purchased. Our family loves popcorn and we use our popper almost 3 times a week so we need one that is going to withstand heavy use. This model appears to be constructed well. The spinner moves much faster than others we have had. The bottom unit easily comes off for cleaning, which is a must. I would recommend this unit over other brands - it is worth the extra few dollars!

It was Bigger than I expected. The first I've purchased so I was excited to try it out. We were sick of using our pots. Thought it would have a timer on it, you have to watch it, and turn off the switch off yourself. Otherwise popcorn will begin to stick, and burn. Like that the top can be used as a bowl. However, the black lid is not snug enough to hold when eating from the bowl. Butter will seep right through. Other than that am happy with this purchase. The popcorn was cooked at a nice pace, and was soft enough to eat, not hard kernels bothering my teeth!

My family and I are popcorn lovers. We lost our old machine when we moved and I bought this because it looked like the one we had. The machine is a good size it doesn’t take up a lot of space and it’s easy to pull out when you’re going to use it and put away when you’re done. It’s so easy to use you just pour the kernels in and plug the machine and 5 minutes later you have a bowl full of popcorn. Not hard at all. We definitely love our new popcorn maker.

VERY DANGEROUSE AND POSSIBLY CAN CAUSE BURNS WHEN FLIPPING HOT POPCORN. THE REASON FOR THIS FEATURE IS SO THE PLATE CAN BE EASILY CLEANED IN DISHWASHER. HOWEVER, WHEN FLIPPING HOT POPCORN, THE WIRES ARE EXTREMELY HOT. CANNOT BE USED BY MY GRANDSONS. I WILL NOT EVEN DONATE TO GOODWILL! HAVE TOSSED IT (WASTE OF MONEY!) AND HAVE GONE BACK AND PURCHASED MY OLD FAVORITE - STIR CRAZY WESTBEND STANDARD MODEL THAT CAN BE FLIPPED WITHOUT THE WIRES BEING EXPOSED. NOT VERY EFFICIENT DESIGN! i SEE THAT WESTBEND NOW ALSO OFFERS THE "PREMIUM" THAT i BELIEVE CAN CAUSE BURNS - I AM STICKING WITH EFFICIENT STANDARD MODEL.

I ordered it for my family with grandchildren who were visiting but they insisted I return it because it was too large acne not necessary. So I ordered like a case of popcorn seeds which I intend to give away since there is only my husband and myself. The popcorn is good .

First, the positive. We bought this model as a replacement for a Hamilton Beach model that we loved, but ultimately gave out because oil dropped into the motor from the stirring arm and clogged it. This one has proven a better design in that regard. The elevated arm keeps oil from getting down in there. The removable cooking tray is also much easier to clean and because the unit fits inside the bowl, it’s a little easier to store.Now for my gripes.My biggest complaint is that the black lid warped after the first use. We finished popping, placed the lid over the top vent, and flipped it over to use as a bowl, just as we’re supposed to. Now the warped lid doesn’t fit on the bowl anymore making it difficult to flip over if you want to continue using it to protect your counters. Burned myself once trying to keep it on while I flipped the bowl.The second issue is that it burns the popcorn. Even when consciously trying not to, it still burned some of the bottom kernels.In the end, we’ll continue using this one until it breaks down. We miss our old one though and wish it had a better design to keep the oil out of the motor. In every other respect, it was a superior popper. RIP.

This is the best popcorn machine I've ever used. Easy to operate, quick popping and simple clean. 99% of the kernels are popped. Keeps the fun in popping corn.
