Bolts on without any drilling. High Quality Brand never disappoints
Draw-Tite's long standing excellent reputation for fit, strength and quality was well represented in this application. Installation without any drilling was a treat and went smoothly. The process of installation on my 2019 Colorado followed helpful comments by others that the bumper needs to completely come off for ease of the bolt up and wiring tasks. I would add that the bumper was not easy to free initially after all bumper attachment bolts were out. To free the bumper, I found a solution by backing out all four bolts holding the original GM cross-tube to the frame rails until the cross tube had dropped down from the frame rails and had about a 3/4 inch gap. The bumper could then be tilted/extracted such that it's end plates that side mount the bumper to the frame rails would come free off the ends of the cross tube bracketing. (The bumper sat nicely on the cross tube's original ball mount support without any bumper attachment bolts in place, so no concern for the bumper possibly falling free during all of that cross tube loosening.) Draw-Tite eliminated that cross tube bracket-end interference and provides washers to tape to the frame that fill in as shims the free space thickness where the new cross tube omitted the OEM's interfering cross tube bracket ends. You can fully bolt up and torque the Draw-tite hitch to the frame rails and afterwards slip the bumper easily in place. I used a long breaker bar with a chain link fence top rail tube section as a cheater pipe extension on it to break loose the two of the (four in total) bumper side-mounting bolts that my 90 degree air hammer could not get in to reach. It was a lengthy effort to back out those OEM-threadlocked bolts, but no heat was required, just patience and endurance. After many years of installing frame mounted hitches from several manufacturers and front-mount tow plate bracketing for vehicles towed behind motorhomes, it was a pleasure to still be able to purchase another Draw-Tite product that continues the high standard you expect from a trusted brand.

Easy to install and top quality
Expected nothing less from Draw-Tite with this high quality hitch. Easy to install and they provide bolt fishing lines to assist. You will either need a second set of hands or use a hydraulic floor jack like I did to raise the hitch up. Took me less than 30 minutes to install and held up as expected pulling my medium sized trailer. Highly recommend.

Good hitch easy install- Some install tips in the review.
Ok so I have a 2015 chevy colorado wt 4x4 that came with a bumper hitch. I needed to change ball size often for different trailers and so i decided to go with the receiver hitch to make that easier. The hitch fit good and was good quality. Tips - There are 8 big bolts and 2 small bolts holding the bumper and old hitch on. these will be rusted badly and you will need a long ratchet and a 21 millimeter socket for the 8 large bolts and the little ones are like a 12 or 13 mm. you should spray these through a hole in the frame area inside the rail to help with removal. These are in an area that is hard to access with a impact and they are extremely tight. they use some thread locker on them so hit them with a torch to free that up or it will be a tough battle. the 4 large bolts on the bottom were easy to remove with the large impact. the 2 center bolts have clips that will need to be put on the new piece. the old hitch ball has to come out before the bumper will come off. be sure to remove the wires that are attached to the bumper before removal. i used zip ties to reattach the wiring. i used a 3 foot 1" drive breaker bar to loosen these big bolts so get ready for some physical work if you tackle this yourself. Good luck

Sturdy hitch, very involved install
Product is very well made with all the parts needed to make it work. The install is not extremely difficult on the Jeep Grand Cherokee L but it does require removing the entire fascia of the car. Make sure to have somewhere safe to put it so the paint doesnt get scuffed and blue painters tape for the seams. Doing the integrated trailer light wiring is strongly suggested while doing the hitch install.

This hitch bolts in easily to the vehicle it is designed for. The installation was fairly quick and simple with the included instructions. I would recommend watching a video if you are unsure of your mechanical aptitude. The item arrived days earlier than expected and included all the necessary hardware to install it. You will need a drill, a hole saw, and basic mechanical tools to install this hitch. It can be a bit tricky to bolt in to place if you do not have a helper, but with a bit of elbow grease and a few cuss words I got the job done solo. Highly recommend if you want to save a few hundred dollars over the factory setup.

Unlike some other purchasers, my hitch lined up perfectly to my Tacoma frame with no issues . I fished 2 bolts through the frame with the wires provided. I was installing the hitch by myself so I used some wooden blocks to line it up & support it within about 1/2" of my frame. From there it was easy to insert & tighten all 6 bolts. Total install time was about 40 minutes with about 10 of that just getting the hitch on blocks & lined up.

Item arrived with damaged box but hitch was ok except for a small scratch, but hey, it's a trailer hitch! All fasteners were in a Ziplock bag and taped to the hitch and arrived fine. Used a 2x4 and my floor jack and lifted the hitch up and installed the bolts as per instruction diagrams. This hitch fits several different models so you need to pay attention to which diagram you use. The 3 holes per side that the diagram said to use lined up perfect but so did a 4th hole. I went to the hardware and got 2 more bolts and installed an extra one on each side. What the heck! The slight "V" shape of the main round beam of the hitch is perfect to allow the spare tire to fit with about 1/2" clearance. Installation total was about 45 minutes by myself. Couldn't have been easier! Very happy.

Overall I am happy with this trailer hitch. The only issue I had was with the way it was shipped. There was almost no protection on it for shipping and because of that, there were scratches and chips in the paint. Not a big issue as it is just all black and easy to touch-up with a spray can. The real problem with the way it was shipped was that the mounting hardware was lost in transit. They told me the hardware would be in the hitch receiver but without a box or protective wrapping, it must have fallen out on route. The seller would not supply replacement parts and only issued a $50.00 credit for the lost hardware. I ordered the replacement parts online from another supplier but they cost me over $90.00 with the shipping so that wasn't great. Once I had the hardware, it was very easy to install and everything fit properly.

thing is built like a tank.Hwavy but installed fairly easily. On the ranger tremor I had to lower sapre a bit because its a bigger tire. That was the hardest part ,figuring out how to insert that dumb set up ford has for lowering the tire .but the hitch is well made ,sturdy and looks good!
