You characters were absolutely priceless and the storyline was totally captivating. Linc added such a wonderful; powerful and loving actions of a 7 year old that made you laugh and dearly love him. The Grandmother's of Allie and Truman play matchmaker somewhat in Allie and Truman lives. Allie had to learn how to live a complete life again and let LOVE into her heart. Her painting and the old Elm tree covered ivy opened her heart; soul and Mindy totally live life . Truman fell in love with Linc the first day. Dealing with the broken leg and the circumstances of their living arrangement brought he and Allie face to face daily and love grew even though they fought against it. This was awesome love story that your storytelling mesmerized me totally, thanks!!!!

I loved this book it was well written, flowed wonderfully and not a lot of characters to try and keep track of. I have enjoyed the other books by this author but this one hit the right insight that the author lets us see. Life is not always what we expect or think we want. I have read it twice in a 2 month time period. I really enjoyed the interaction between Truman, Allie and Linc, Allie's 7-year-old son and Belle, the dog. The romance developed beautifully, without sex scenes.

A beautiful love story about overcoming life's trials and learning to trust again. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Allie, Truman and Linc. It was fun to see their relationship grow. I especially appreciate that there was no sex or foul language which allowed you to focus on the characters and their story. I loved that each person who saw the painting saw a different metaphor for life, their life experiences. That's what made it such a great painting.

This is such a sweet story of two people struggling with heartbreak and finding love. I laughed. I wanted to cry. I will put this book on my reread list so I can reconnect with these friends again. Highly recommended.

I can’t get enough of Carolyn Brown books. This is about a widow with a child and a bachelor. They are both so strong and independent they don’t see what is right there for them to grab onto. They get the happily ever after in the end. The son is an absolute favorite in this book

I liked the story and the way that the romance developed. The H & h really connect and I liked the way the H communicated with the son. No sex & No swear words. Beautiful story. I would recommend it to all age groups.
