Let's your wired music player talk to bluetooth - Amazing device
I use a Cowon Plenue D music player. I use it a lot. When I am on long journeys in my car I want to use my music player. I bought a new car that didn't have a 3.5mm aux socket (bad VW, bad VW). I didn't want to link my phone to the car as this would only encourage dangerous driving. My phone is OFF when it's in the car. So what was I to do? I looked on Amazon for a bluetooth to 3.5mm converter without much hope. Eventually I found this device. The price was right so it was worth a punt. What an amazing thing. This is about as big as my thumb nail. It has a USB port and a 3.5mm socket. It's easy to use. Just plug the device into you car's USB port until you see a red light on the device and then wait for your car to connect to it. Plug the supplied 3.5mm male-to-male connector into your music player and off you go. The sound quality is good and the connection via bluetooth is solid and reliable. I had two niggles neither of which is the device' fault. The first is that the USB port in my car is hard to get to so I had to buy a short USB male to female cable. The second is that the supplied 3.5mm male-to-male cable has one jack which is a bit dodgy and kept cutting out. The solution was to turn the cable around. Easy but a bit frustrating to trouble solve on the move. If you have a favourite music player that has a 3.5mm headphone socket and you need to connect it to a bluetooth device I can't think of a better solution. Highly recommended.

HELL NO!!!
What a joke!!! This thing came w/one tiny folded up piece of paper smaller than a business card for instructions and was written in broken English. I tried over 3 hours to get it to work and the best I got was having it flash proper color light. No sound at all though. So I looked for tech support and all that was available was a phone number in China (international fees would have cost me around $2.50/minute). Or, an email address. So I emailed them and each time it took around 30+ hours to get a response and they obviously weren't reading my messages because I was super detailed even including the brand and models of equipment I was trying to use device for. Finally after spending a cumulative 6 or so hours running back and forth to check the stupid blinking light on unit and 4 days of waiting for email replies in broken English Amazon allowed a return which meant I had to make a special trip to a UPS store and drop off. I did call Amazon to get an RA label and send back after day 2 but they wouldn't let me return until day 4 because it wasn't something they stocked. So I also had to make 2 calls to Amazon to get return/refund process started. The second Amazon rep was much more accommodating and nicer to deal with as she actually spoke English as a first language. So I ened up buying a 10'cable to make connection for sound. So unless you want one little overpriced blinking light to make a dance club look for some fleas I would look elsewhere. If I could give this negative starts I would. Actually that would be a more interesting rating system if we had an option for at least 1 negative star.

Not for me, but GREAT customer service!
It is not usable for computers, which would be anyone's main use for such a device. The fact that it is not stated that it cannot be used on a computer is almost false advertising. This was a waste of my money, and I cannot use it. EDIT: I am increasing my rating to five stars: A representative of the product reached out to me personally and fully refunded the product, as well as offering me a replacement. Despite it not working, I cannot in good conscience leave a low review up: I was well compensated, and they genuinely care that I have a working product. It could be that it just didn't work for me, so on the basis of customer service and a full refund, I would re-rate this five stars. The creator of this product is highly trustworthy.

UPDATE: 2nd one was better
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Very disappointing experience with this USB bluetooth transmitter. The pairing instructions are terrible. I followed them repeatedly and couldn't pair wireless headphones to this device plugged into my smart tv. No further instructions here or online. Had to scour the internet for similar devices hoping to find better pairing instructions. Finally found a note from a different supplier on another website (the younger version of Old Egg) that suggested to turn off smartphone bluetooth first. Did that and was able to pair this device to the headphones quickly. Finally! Unfortunately, the sound quality was not good. Whereas the sound volume was sufficient at 15 using the same headphones with another bluetooth transmitter (or the tv's external speakers), I had to turn the volume up to about 35 to hear the volume with this USB transmitter. I confirmed the dongle and aux cord were well seated in their ports. I feared that the sound might kick-in while wearing the headphones and jump up to the true volume of 35 and blast my eardrums. I had high hopes for this device but sadly am returning it. UPDATE: The seller sent me a replacement and it works better. The pairing was much easier (especially now that I know to turn off other nearby bluetooth devices 1st) and it is working as advertised. It automatically pairs with my wireless headphones whenever I turn them on now. There's a slight delay in the sound from the tv to the wireless headphones, but I think that's pretty normal with wifi sound. The seller provided prompt and professional customer service and made things right.

Easy to use, works all the time, but sound quality is poor
This was easy to use and works 100% of the time. Unfortunately, the quality is not good enough. The quality is much better via direct aux connection. When I playback through this Bluetooth receiver, the quality drops (treble not as high, bass not as low, flatter dynamic range). For someone without a bass amp, or lower quality audio system it might be good enough. For me, this is only good enough for Podcasts and I might just return it.

Works like a charm!
This is for the mini thumbnail sized SZMDLX USB Bluetooth 5.0 adapter. Virtually no delay in audio receiver mode. I bought this for my 1992 corvette. I just had the original stereo unit serviced and modified to have a 3.5mm headphone jack installed. I then use this BT unit plugged into my usb cigarette lighter adapter, and then the audio cable plugs from the BT unit into the 3.5mm jack added onto my stereo. My 27 year old car is now BT audio capable! The audio receiver delay is so minimal I can even use this BT unit for hands free phone calls - older BT units (4.0 and lower) have a longer receiver audio output delay that you can't use them for phone calls - your voice would be delayed to the caller significantly). I have several older cars that have newer stereos with USB inputs - I am ordering one of these for each of them. Those cars won't even need the 3.5mm jack as this BT unit will transmit received audio directly out the usb port. Such a clean and small design that will modernize any audio system.

It works
Pros: v5.0 capability. Range started cutting around 40ft in house. Receiver mode (blue light) is easy to connect to ZF-169 (profile). Instructions are easily understandable and switching between receive and transmit mode is a breeze (unplug usb and plug, repeat, etc). Tip: if connecting your bluetooth headphones (eg. Jabra Elite) to computer or similar, make sure headphones are off and out of ear. Plug in USB and connect 3.5mm cord to correct port. Turn on headphones and wait for red light to turn solid from blinking. Tried pairing my Jabras for 10 minutes with them in my ear and it wouldn't work until I physically paired with headphones in hands. Could be different with other setups. Cons: Sound quality is pretty bad. Swapped out the 3.5 cord for a higher quality cord and no difference. I first used this in my vehicle and sound quality was poor but didn't know why. Brought it to my computer under closer listening with headphones and the issue is bad feedback noise. Basically, in my non-scientific audio explanation without a degree in electronics, the internal chip in the dongle is lousy. I compared it with a dongle 3x the price and clarity is night and day. With this product, you're getting a cheaply made unit that will turn your life wireless, but will not live up to the expectations of any person who respects somewhat decent sound quality. No amount of money invested into your sound product/system will make this unit acceptable. However, it does work and for many will not break the bank while providing that wireless audio we're all looking for in 2019.

worth it.. buy it
i write comprehensive reviews but i just hooked this up and got it working with my sound system across the room in like 2 minutes or less... i just unpaired my google home, and it worked perfectly (the pairing had already happened after i put the receiver by my system on pairing mode.. it paired to the google home, and it must have auto paired to this USB device, because , like i said, it began playing my computer's audio as soon as i unpaired the google home from my bluetooth receiver. anyways hopee that wasn't confusing. it's legit.
