Casio Men's GWM850-7CR G-Shock Solar Atomic White Watch

.this just came in the mail today and I was so happy. I have a lot of g-shocks; This was my 5th one but only my second solar atomic one. I love the layout of the case and display as well as the color. White is a color on a watch I have never had before and makes me feel special in the midst of other guys with more common watch colors. It is completely maintenance free above all. I am not a big fan of watches that need upkeep which contributes to more headaches. I believe a watch was an accessory invented to help us live our lives not diminish them. Only time well tell if the white coating ever wears out as a reviewer reported. As a guy with physical disability I am not at all active so for me I think the white will never wear off? The thing with this model is unlike my older atomic solar g-shocks the signal indicator which tells you the atomic signal was received is a letter "g" inside a little box in the center of the display on the right hand corner whereas my older g-shocks had a satellite dish to indicate the signal was received. The color, finish and layout of this one is very inspiring to me. I fully intend on taking very good care of this as my new favorite and should last me a life time of use. One thing to note is this particular G-shock model is considerably smaller in size than the typical G-shock and this has started to weight on my mind as a guy knowing it appears rather small and feminine on my wrist. Albeit its maintainance- free features outweighs this drawback.*Update*I've had this now for only a week and it has met all my expectations and then some- its even got a signal received indicator like my previous g-shock did. Not everyone including Casio tech support is even aware this watch comes with this signal indicator? I think it is because it looks different from the tiny satellite on most g-shocks? Yes the signal indicator on this is a letter G inside a little window in the middle of the display. As soon as I noticed it had it I was immediately relieved as I was starting to think this one had no indicator.

I have had it for 5 YEARS. And without any exaggeration, and actually being a little reserved with my estimate, I have worn this watch 95% or more of the days and nights in the last 5 years. I simply just never take it off. I've taken it underwater in pools, lakes, oceans, hot hot showers and hotsprings and have never had a problem with its water resistance. It has severe wear as far as the white color goes, but what do you expect when buying a white watch, and then go greasing tractors, changing oil, and doing other abrasive and dirty tasks? The result is pictured here. It looks a little better than it does in the picture, but it is clearly worn. I am an outdoorsy guy, so keeping it charged has never been a huge issue, but that other 5% of time where I wear my "fancy" watch, it does get low, or the face turns off for a little while, but 20 min in the sun fixes that.Features are awesome!-Atomic is sweet, but I don't travel a ton to see the benefits completely. It always shows correct time though...-Rotate wrist for backlight is so second nature for me that I do it with other watches because I forget I'm not wearing this one.-never scratched the glass-nana nana boo boo, stick your head in doo doo.Bottom line, if you're a "wear it till it dies" type of person like I am, be prepared to wear this thing for a long long time. It's related to my N64 or something because they're both never going to die.

I purchased this watch to replace a black gshock that did not illuminate. I think this model is a few years old probably from 2009 or 2010 and did not come in the G-shock metal case. that's Ok though.The solar function and battery worked right away - i did not need any additional charging and normal wear will provide enough adequate battery charging. The atomic timekeeping feature did not work the first night - it may take a while and or a few tries, but for me it worked within two days, when followed as per the directions.I don't really care for the other functions such as alarm or stopwatch but hey it's there for those that need it.it's sleek and stylish and I did have a previous white G-Shock which rec'd a lot of compliments so I thought I would get another white one.Be mindful you do have to clean the band with alcohol every once in a while to keep it looking bright and clean.

I took this on beach vacation with the intent of never removing it for whatever ocean activities I got into. I had this thing submerged in 3 feet of ocean water for hours without mishap. The glow is handy for reading it in the dark and the other features, such as stopwatch and date display, also come in handy. After vacation, I kept wearing it instead of switching back to my Movado. It's a great watch for utility. I clean it with a scrub brush and I'd expect a little bleach or whitewall tire cleaner to keep it really white. That said, a darker color would be a little less maintenance.

I bought this watch for work and it has worked out great. I work in a factory and needed a tough watch and this surely fits the bill. I am a female but I could not find a tough enough womens watch for work. My husband liked it so much I bought him the black one. The only thing I don't like is that the band is too long for me but I knew that would be the case when I purchased a mans watch. It picks up the atomic signal with no problems and has a ton of features I will probably never use. It's not as big as some of the other mens watches and that works out good for me. It has already recieved some pretty hard knocks and it has not effected it at all. It also gets wet on a regular basis and handles that fine also. When I am off work I lay it in the window and it stays on the high charge indicator. I love the feel of the material the band is made of, very comfortable. I liked the atomic solar feature so good that I purchased a Casio solar atomic ladies watch for when I'm not at work.

I have had this watch about 6 months now and I still love it as much as when I got it! Never having to change batteries or even adjust the time when the daylight savings time changes are great features. And of coarse g shocks are very durable. On my next watch, solar and atomic are a must
