Never try to use a vise on golf club shafts without a way to cushion the jaws or prevent slipping! This works well, fits graphite or steel shafts, and is easy to use. That said, for newbies to club work, don’t over tighten your vise, especially on graphite shafts! Begin with only enough firmness to keep a shaft from moving as you work, and don’t apply pressure on thin parts of the shaft. When you’re learning how to re-grip, use more solvent than you think you need and catch it in a paint roller tray or similar. Keep in mind the solvent is reusable if you’re able to put it into a small cup, for example. I started using one of those large plastic syringes for this purpose and it works surprisingly well! I’ve purchased several different products from the wedge guys, including tape, knives, and solvent and have never been disappointed. High quality, and a good value for the money knowing a reputable company stands behind it.

This rubber vise makes working on golf clubs so much easier. Whether replacing grips or cleaning grooves, the vice holds the shaft secure with light force. It’s the proper size from a small bench vice.

This was exactly as described and perfect for my application. Used for re-gripping clubs, it held the club shaft securely when putting the new grip on the club.
