I recently introduced my 5 year old granddaughter to Amelia. She loves her just as her mom and aunts did as children.

Amelia Bedelia is a favorite of all young girls learning to read. The stories are realistic and easy to read.I have bought them for all my Granddaughters and now for my Great Granddaughter.

Awesome book for kids, the 10 year old who doesn't like to ready, will ready these books without me reminding her to read!

とてもきれいな英語をきれいな声の女性が読んでくれる聞き取りやすいＣＤです。文法レベルは中２くらいあると思います。amelia bedeliaという名前のお手伝いさんがご主人の言いつけを勘違いするというコミカルなお話で小５の私の息子も喜んで聞いています。たとえばPrune the hedgzeという表現は普通に解釈すると垣根を切りそろえるという意味なのですが、無理やり勘違いして垣根にプルーンを刺したりします。面白い話なのですが、２つの意味のある単語のマイナーなほうの意味を知っていなければ笑えません。きれいな英語ですが、日常会話程度は理解できる子でなくては難しいと思います。逆に言うと少し英語力のある子には、勉強になるいい教材だと思います。初めて読むときには親御さんが辞書をひいて勘違いのツボを解説してやるひつようがあるでしょう。ちょっと難しいけれどとても面白いかわいいお話です。
